[Stock][Odin] Ring Backup SPH-M840

i keep getting a flashing blue screen, any fix? i'm guessing its bricked, so any links to the latest firmware? or stockrom?

if you are trying to boot to the recovery then you will get a flashing blue screen, because something is wrong with it, flash this : http://androidforums.com/galaxy-rin...overy-clockworkmod-6-0-3-7-recovery-ring.html

then this from there: http://androidforums.com/galaxy-rin...-kernel-oc-rbheromax-rb3-kernel-v6-0-1-a.html

tell me what happens from there

Yea, seemed to have worked, though i still get the yellow exploitation error sign at boot. when in recovery down at the bottom, it indicates "E:Can't open /tmp/recovery.log" aside from that, it works fine..

glad to have been of service, and yeah the yellow triangle went away for me after i switched from win to mac and used Heimdall to flash, and the same when i switched from Mac to my current Linux Mint 15 install and used heimdall from there. Perhaps try flashing recovery from Heimdall and see if the result is duplicated? there is a windows machttp://www.glassechidna.com.au/products/heimdall/ and linux version that can be found here:

We are still working on Cyanogen but we have a custom stock rom (labeled rb3mod in the thread list)

I got the flashing blue screen and installed cwm like was posted. Stock still not booting up. I was having that problem where the screen froze on the samsung logo after the virgin mobile bootsplash. I am able to access files using adb and I want to back up as much as possible.

Does anyone know an easier method than doing 'adb pull <foldername>' ?

my phone won't boot so I can't use any decent apps and I don't believe I can root it using framaroot since the kernel isn't loading or something. I'm not really sure what's going on but this has been an ongoing issue with me.

if load rbheromax's thing through odin, will I lose my personal data like messages?

thanks people

Thanks guys! You saved me! I was in an infinite bootloop due to screwing with my build.prop file. I flashed your stock rom on my Galaxy Ring and it went through, but when I rebooted my phone, it went to a flashing blue screen. But luckily, Orthuvas up there suggested to someone else to flash CWM Recovery to the phone, so I did and now it works like a charm :) Thanks to everyone!

I am trying to do the same thing. I have successfully flashed CWM and the recovery file. My phone boots up and I can use it. However, when I try to root the phone with framaroot, it just freezes when I select Gandalf and then eveuntually reboots. Superuser will not update, when I use root checker it tells me the phone is not rooted.

I need to completely restore this phone back to stock. I have a Galaxy Rush recovery file that completely returned my phone back to stock and unrooted it. I was hoping this recovery would do the same but it didn't.

Does anyone know how or have the correct files to return the SPHm840 back to stock?
