I am due an upgrade to my mobile phone soon.

I am looking to go down the android route but have yet to decide on a phone to go for.

I understand that any mobile with android 2.2 or higher can access all the UK online on demand (and live) terrestrial television services.

Can anyone confirm this is true?

I currently have a Nokia N97 and that can only access BBCiplayer as it doesn't have flash.

If they are regular flash, yes, anything 2.2 and above should work.

Can anyone who has actually tried and succeeded confirm this?

I would like to know for sure that this is actually the case.

I strongly suspect it is, but I really would like definite confirmation. :D

    Welcome to the forums!

Before blocking me for being outside the UK, the first and last one definitely looked like vanilla flash videos to me.

The second blocked right away, so I couldn't recognize the player either way.

The good news - I've enlisted help from some of our UK staff members, so you're likely to get an answer from somebody on your side of the drink rather soon.

    Hi dog-man,

No probs with either 4oD or Demand 5 - both loaded and played fine here. I didn't have time to check playback with ITV Player but can't see any reason why it wouldn't work like the others.

    Thanks.

    That's good news.

All I have to do now is decide on a phone as long as it's android. :D
