Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I have southern blood in my veins. Much to my mother's chagrin it seems to overpower the Italian blood.
I'm much more at home when I head south or west. I only live here because I always have. :D

I'm of Lithuanian heritage and I don't think we have a cuisine:D. Maybe that's why I like such variety. I also make an awesome pasta sauce, but I cannot even tell my wife how I do it because its all with my nose.

My mother is such an awesome cook that I've never really learned. That's why I was really happy about that correlation we discovered between men who use android and cooking. :D

Great shot, NCTurner!
As much flack as the Nexus get's for its camera, I think it's just fine. I'm a complete photo buff (use a Cannon G10 as my main rig, nothing fancy but doesn't break the bank), and if I want something for posterity, I'll use it. If I want something to share with friends (on the fly no less), I'll use the Nexus. Anything is better than the crap cameras on Motos. If/when Google decides to use them for the next Nexus (which I really hope they do), I would love for them to spend the time Nokia and Apple puts it on their cameras.

Thanks for the compliment! I too, love photography - my "main" camera is a Nikon D-300s (main lens is a VR 18-200)...love that thing! However, it is also nice to know that in a pinch, such as that morning, our GN's will suffice if you see a shot you really want.

I just sold my DX. Its camera was fine, in bright light. However, I don't think I could've gotten the picture above with it, as it simply didn't do well at all in low light situations. The GN DOES grab the data in the darker areas (I still had to tweak it in PS Elements), but the important thing is that the sensor did get the data. No data = no tweaking!

I agree on hopefully these manufacturers putting better lenses on their phones. They are NOT that expensive, and people are more and more looking to their phone for their camera.

You know what would be fun? We could start up like a recipe of the week thing, where someone picks one of their favorite recipes, and we all try to make it the following week. We could let BB choose who will pick their recipe each week. Those of us who were able to make it that week, could post a pic, as well as their review... What do you think?

I'm split right down the middle... my mom is Italian (Sicilian if you want to get technical) and my dad was German. So that means, according to my wife, I'm the most stubborn person on the face of the earth. :) Our house was definitely more Italian - both influential and cuisine - than German when I was growing up. Although I enjoy sauerbraten and spaetzle as much as a good bowl of spaghetti and meatballs...

I like it. And if we're still around together when I eventually get a kitchen to call my own maybe I'll even try some

hey guys, maybe someone can point me in the right direction. This is not nexus related. I just flashed AOKP on my touchpad and looking for a version of swype that will work. I tried the nexus version and it works in portrait, but not in landscape. I tried vers 3. something and it works in portrait but not in landscape. I don't care if the keyboard is smaller - actually better to be smaller for swype, but my problem is that the keyboard becomes too large. I've read some threads about decompiling it and fixing it yourself, but that's above my technical level.

I saw your post after I posted my previous post. Will that work for you?

says screen size is not supported. i've already got a perfect version of swype for gnex, and themed too (ics stock). is there any advantages to switching to the beta on the gnex?

I don't know I just saw that link and posted it I don't use swype any longer. There might be some fixes and compatibility issues resolved in the newest version. Have you compared version #'s to see if they're any different?
