Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I am nearing the end of Heir to the Empire by Timothy Zahn. I know a few on here recommended it a while ago and I finally got around to reading it. It's really good! I can't believe how much richer the story is than anything George Lucas came up with. It's too bad he's not going to do any more movies based on this trilogy. It would've been nice, but I guess it also would have been almost impossible to put any actors into the roles other than the ones we already know. No one else could play Han Solo, that's for sure.

That trilogy is fantastic and I really wish they would make them into movies while the original actors are still, uh, kicking. I never read farther than that into the extended universe, but that was a fitting sequel to the movie saga :)

1) Chile, Mega-earthquake on February 27, 2010
2) New Zealand-Major Earthquake on September 4, 2010
3) Japan-Mega-Earthquake on March 11, 2011
4) Fiji-Major Earthquake on September 15, 2011

Major earthquakes on or around 188 days. Today - 7.4 in Mexico City. If you go by 188 days there should be a big one in 2 days. Things that make you go hmm.

Not that I believe this. Just find it interesting.

Just finished Volume I. Fantastic story, itching to get into the second one.

Bizarre!

My Nexus just called Verizon... by itself... AGAIN... for programming.

I'm still on 4.0.2 so I have NO IDEA what happened. Anyone know why our Nexi do this and what it is?

Strange. I think it's so strange that the official OS is still 4.0.2. I'm running a 4.0.4 (Axiom Patient Zero, which is a tweaked version of Crossbreed) that has been great on battery life, is super fast, and hasn't cropped up with any weird issues. You'd think if freelancing devs, who don't even get paid, can tweak out the bugs, Verizon would be a bit quicker on the ball. But no.

I really think Thrawn is the best-written villian I've ever read. Too often (especially in Expanded Universe situations) the villians are all transparent idiots, and Thrawn was so far from this it was just incredible. Mara Jade is a pretty excellent anti-hero as well.

Re: dogs. I can't find the damn page about the labs. I'm sorry. I don't know why I didn't bookmark it when I read it. Most of what I'm finding is talking about the false attribution to pits.

Love that show!!!!

It is now up there with Miss Saigon as one of my two favorites. I love broadway and everytime I go I wonder why I don't go more (mostly $$$). We actually had awesome seat that Pam got for her birthday, 3rd row orchestra, center stage. I could smell the fog machine and the gun powder. This was in the Opera House in Boston, and the stage was about eye level (I've been to other shows and sat up front and the stage is about six feet above you) so you were really able to appreciate the emotions expressed by the actors.

I've got to go to more broadway.

Morning everyone.
We saw Les Mis a couple years ago in a really cool place just outside DC. The stage was surrounded on 3 sides by the audience and we were about 10 feet from the stage, it was very intimate. My wife had seen the show in high school in NYC and said it was very different.
She really wants to go see The Book of Mormon when it comes to the Kennedy Center. We get quite a few broadway and off broadway shows here in DC. But like you guys said, I can't believe the ticket prices!

Morning everyone.

My three top favorites are Rock of Ages, Wicked and Rent. Rock of Ages was totally unexpected that the entire audience was going to get involved and sing these classic rock ballads - what an amazing experience.

So did some more work on my iOS layout last night and I made the buttons and inputs a bit smaller and I think I am pretty satisfied with its layout right now. Found out last night that I need a Mac to do any type of iOS development, whether it be Objective-C or Appcelerator or PhoneGap so I guess I am either building a Hackintosh or looking into an old Mac Mini to do my development on. Might as well keep building in HTML, CSS and JS for now to get more practice anyway.

Oops meant to attach the image.

Happy Hump Day!

Broadway talk - yes, too damn expensive. But have gotten to see Chicago (won 4th row orchestra tickets), Phantom (brother got them from work), Les Miserables (birthday) and Priscilla Queen of the Desert (girls night out)
I have to say Priscilla was funny funny funny. Its the only time I've enjoyed disco- but who wouldn't when its sung by drag queens!!!
I want to see Wicked.

Stigy - I like the way the new layout looks.

Wife and I were going to see Wicked this summer when we visited NYC. Too expensive and too much time out of our busy schedule to go see it, especially since they were touring and coming to Nashville a couple months later (we didn't go see it then either, lol). We did see the Rockettes Christmas show this winter though. I thought it was pretty good ;)

Hey guys, was just talking to a coworker (huge Star Wars fan), and he recommended the Darth Vader Trilogy, which fills in a lot of the blanks between Episode II and Episode IV:

1. Labyrinth of Evil by James Luceno
2. Revenge of the Sith by Matthew Stover (adaptation of the film, but with a lot more detail and story)
3. Dark Lord by James Luceno

I might move on to that one after finishing up the Thrawn trilogy.

My coworker is currently reading Darth Plagueis, also by James Luceno, that supposedly has a bunch of source material from Lucas, about the Sith Lord who mentored Palpatine, and was referenced briefly in Episode III.

Such geekology!

lol
