Where does the Hero rank?

currently i'd say top 5 but not for much longer but on an inovation standpoint, i'd say top 10 for quiet some time

The new devices coming out now are so powerful you can almost classify as mobile computers, with phone capabilities. The Hero strikes a good balance of form factor (almost perfect size for a phone), performance (especially with Android 2.1), and features. For me, that will keep it hig on the list of mobile "phones" for a while. All that being said though, the Evo 4G looks mighty impressive. If Sprint keeps the phone/data plans for it at a reasonable price, I just might jump on it when I'm eligible to upgrade again in October.

Depends on what you base everything on. It wasn't the first phone, wasn't the first cell phone, wasn't the first pocket sized phone, it didn't change the cell phone industry like the iPhone did and wasn't the first Android phone....

I love my Hero and it is best phone for my wants and needs (I've owned a TON of phones). But I wouldn't think it "rates" as the top of any charts.

This has been the case for some time now. My Mogul beat the first computer I built in every category except for on board storage, my first PC had a whopping 6.4 gigs and 128k ram. My current system is a different story, can't wait for phones to catch up to 1tb and 8g ram!:D
