When you guys go to Settings- About Phone- and then click network, what is it saying under "mobile network type"? Mine is saying HSDPA? Will it say HSPA+ once it is released for my area?

And sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, just figured it was somewhat on topic.

    From Charlotte, NC:

    2688 kbps down - 395 kbps up
    2990 kbps down - 404 kbps up
    2744 kbps down - 380 kbps up

    Now on wifi it FLIES:
17848 kbps down - 1024 kbps up (my time warner cable speeds kick butt) and to be honest- I'm satisfied with my mobile speeds. It's a little faster than I had with my iPhone 4.

Well; HSPA+ is just enhanced 3G; so the minimal improvement over 3G is what we should expect I suppose. Generally these are dissapointing speeds for a phone advertised as 4G

  11. And when the hspa+ actually gets here on march 31 st the speeds will double and triple so these speeds won't be dissapointing

The saddest part is that my non-HSPA+ device, an iPhone 4 murders all the crippled AT&T so called HSPA+ devices..
  16. there is no way your iphone4 is getting those speeds lol plus the hsupa being disabled will only affect upload speeds not the download your 6+K uploads is almost 3k more than everyone else has gotten

Yea I'm very disappointed in the Up speeds especially, must be because AT&T has HSUPA disabled right now.....(Terrible choice).

I'll run a test again later today when I'm on campus at my University, I usually get full bars there.

Would you like more screenshots? I'm not sure what are you trying to say...
On my iPhone 4 HSUPA is maxing out at about 1.7mbps here in NYC and im getting over 6mbps down during the off peak hours, steady.
On my HSPA+ Shockwave modem I see 12mbps off peak.

Let me know if you want more screens... got plenty of them..

Those are very good numbers. Maybe the "4g" rollout has gone into effect in NYC?

I am able to get about 4mb/s late at night in Atlanta say around 2am..lolol. Rest of the time its more like 1mb/s.

  23. Not yet that's not till end of march early April

Depends on your location, weather conditions time of the day... Here in NYC HSUPA was never disabled on iPhone 4. Why? Simply cause Apple would NEVER allow carriers to dictate terms that wouldn't benefit the customers. Apple develops hardware + software and doesn't allow any bloatware. No crippling period.

It's clear as a day that AT&T has their custom roms specifically designed to disable HSUPA so their network doesn't get slammed. To put it in a sentence: They are NOT ready to offer you HSPA+ speeds.
There isn't a single chipset manufacturer that creates HSPA+ chip that at the same time doesn't support HSUPA.
So all the nonsense has to end and they need to either allow users to use the netowrk as it's meant to be used, or stop selling HSPA+ phones immediately!
