I gave up on that app. I now call it "Qit"!

Seriously? This SUCKS!

I was really enjoying the option of this. Now it's not working, PLUS Fring lost the ability to video chat with Skype. This was a huge buying point over iPhone 4, it originally lacked the restrictions that one would have using facetime. Seems now we can't even video chat at all, facetime looks pretty appealing in comparison. CRAP, CRAP, CRAP!!!

The whole video chat on Evo issue isn't worth investing time in until app and network kinks are worked out. What I'd like is one app/tool that I can use wether on 3G, Wimax, or Wifi that will do the video chat. I won't use it if it becomes more difficult to connect than a few button pushes.

FaceTime might be easier, but the whole point of video chat on a phone is that sometimes wifi isn't available. Can't describe the number of times I've been in a hotel that claimed in-room and lobby wifi yet it didn't work.

I'd willingly pay for a Qik upgrade if they built something that works like I described.

Well I tried Qik yesterday on 3g, 4g and wifi. Opposite party changed coverage in correlation. We had no success. It would often open the video communication, display the video and then freeze and eventually disconnect. I am very disappointed.

Yes I realize the wifi restriction is obnoxious. But the bigger problem is that it's not working AT ALL, wifi or not. This is ridiculous!

Not working her either! My girlfriend went to California for the week and I'm here in Phoenix, AZ. We were excited that we would be able to video chat and have her show me the sights. . . . . but no luck. We couldn't connect at all. If we did, all we got were a black screen and our voices were chopped so much we sounded likes droids.

This experience sucked, but that doesnt change my mind all that the Evo is a great phone, i never use that app and i know they'll fix the flaws in no time.

Please don't misinterpret my intentions. I don't mean to infer that the lack of a working video chat app makes the iPhone better, or that the Evo sucks or anything else.

I am just really disappointed that we don't have a moderately operational video chat application after all the hype about Qik and the front facing camera prior to the Evo launch.

So basically, Qik isn't working for anyone... hmm, you'd think the Qik devs would have REALIZED this before making it an option... idiots.

Well it looks like it should work fine from this link. Qik Help and Support Center / Video Chat

But I have noticed a discrepancy which may indicate some user error on my part. When I try to video chat with a friend, they always receive a text directing them to a link. When I receive a incoming call for video, it also comes up as a text, with link to internet. neither myself or the opposite party has received a "ringtone" from Qik inviting us to join the chat. Something must be wrong here... ughhhhh.

Searched, no luck so I'm posting.

Anyone noticed QIK now has a video chat option? Only problem is that it's worthless, at least in my attempts. If YOU have used the video chat successfully, please let me know, thanks.
I'm in the same boat. I have tried several times to get this app to work correctly. I stopped trying. I can see and hear people but they can not hear me. I guess I have no idea what I'm doing. Someone said you have to hit a talk button. I do not see one on my screen when I'm in video chat.
