Score Alarm is great for monitoring sport results. The best i ever seen.

Betfair have a pretty good app, sent via sms as an apk that you install on the phone.
Obviously you need a Betfair account to actually make use of it.

For Football (or soccer - depends on your location) Fotmob is great.

There are number of betting apps available over play store. It depends upon the area of your betting interest, say if you are interested in betting on horses there is an app named "iHorse Betting" that allows you to bet on your desired Stallion from any of the reaces happening at the time. The organizations also provides their own customized betting apps for playing casino games and races and other. It is your choice to install specific company app or some universal app for all games.
