Where is the Android version shown?

I am using a non rooted Samsung Fascinate on Verizon wireless.

I have looked in all of the phone settings and I cannot find the Android version the phone is running.

Can anyone tell me where to find the Android version?

Thanks for the information. I looked and the firmware version says 2.1-update 1.

My Verizon Motorola Droid-X is running Android 2.2.1 which is the current Android version.

Does this mean that the Samsung is not running the most up to date Android version even when I do a manual update and the phone says it's up to date?

And actually it gets worse, 2.2.1 is not the current version of android. That would be 2.3.

well actually 2.3.3 is most current "phone" android os....but well lets be realistic about something in regards to that...only 1 phone has 2.3 and thats a google supported development phone (the nexus ota is due soon, but again thats a dev phone)

no oem-skinned/branded phones have 2.3 yet and may never get it...2.4 (updated gb) will probably start to ota in late spring for many phones....so really 2.2.1 is whats "current" and *should* be on all android phones
