Help 2500 worth of music bought on ITunes and only 30% works with my phone?

Last year I bought the galaxy and when I used iSync it only loaded about 30% of my songs because I had to upgrade because of iTunes copyrit crap and it was like 600 bucks. I'm bout to dump my iPhone but I want to make sure I can get all my songs on there now? Has things changed since last summer?

Given the following, they will work:
They were bought postDRM, or have somehow had DRM removed
They are in a format your device plays (I forget what itunes uses, but this should be true)

That being said, why iTunes? Buying used CDs on amazon/your local music shop is so much cheaper, and you have a hardcopy. Also, the quality is much better.

Not as far as iTunes DRM is concerned. If your music is iTunes Plus (no DRM) and in a format supported by your device then you'll be fine.

That being said, why iTunes? Buying used CDs on amazon/your local music shop is so much cheaper, and you have a hardcopy.

Completely irrelevant. OP already owns the music. It's like a mathematical proof. You can't change the "given".

Amazon isn't always cheaper. Neither are local music shops.

why not just convert the files that wont work, to a filetype that will? I did this with all my music I bought from iTunes, used a converter (outside of iTunes) and converted it .mp3. now all my purchased (its been years since I have said that lol) music plays perfectly on my android.

How did you do this? Also will the album art show up?

well when I used iTunes (I use amazon and rhapsody now for music) I had it download the info into my own personal directories. inside these directories Ihave it set up so there is a genre, an artist, and then there discographia. inside the discographia is all the cds (all in seperate folders) inside those folders wher the cd cover image. So I searched google,a nd found a free MP3 converter. I converted all my itunes to mp3 (or found a .flac version, and got rid of the original) and got rid fo the orignal iTunes files. if some albums dont have a cover, its not hard to find an image of said album online and save it it to the album directory.

Its actually harde rot explain, than it is to actually just do.
