Root Bionic (Awakening the Ally)

4g emulation is very nice idea but I rely on 3g as my primary connection so it wouldn't benefit my situation. I do like the fact its based on a whole new deal than the other roms but until the phone and messenging i s fixed to near 100% I can't do it. It looks rather sweet and I know with beta being tested its not far away and I can get a new fresh phone when its released. Thanks for your hard work to all the devs of velocity, stormdroid and bionic. If it weren't for your hard work I would have smashed this phone into little peices and wiping my ass with the contract then mailing it back to verizon.

No, sadly unless someone hasnt figured it out yet...
But anyway, its a hack in the service. File were you can tell your device to allow 3g and wifi at the same time to double or triple (depending on your acecess point) the speed of your enternet browsing and use the wifi access point to do enternet things while texting and calling

Could you possibly PM me more info on this?
I would love to see if I could possibly do it to my Droid 3... Thanks

Altho the radio is not fixed yet, im thinking about opening up a weekly build thraed. Where each week il post a live download link for everyone to try out bionic and see its progress. Sorta like cyanogens nightly downloads option but i dont work that fast lol
That way, anyone who is curious or thinks they can help can work on it and see if they can make a difference and help out. Thats why its called open source.

That would be great! I would love to try it out and give feedback.

Itl be be awhile but il make that a priority, fixing a few things the kitchen script messed up :/ once i have a stabilish build and a basis for the rom, il create a weekly build thread. That way everyone can tweak and build and if anyone hits the target, notify me and il post updated builds. This project needs a wide development enviroment to be a stable build.
The themers can use the builds to test their new cyanogen themes, once they try building them ofcourse

If you want shoot me a pm with links to the last "working" zip and the new "not working" one and I'll compare them and see if I can find anything that might have slipped by.

You know that would make one think but why would an os make a difference on a radio? Unless its a performance or driver issue
I have improved the performance of the radio but not by much. Ive found an app im testing that you can use to adjust the radio, it might come with bionic.

That is what I was thinking, driver type issue... differences in the hardware from whatever it was ported over from. I would think LG would use the same hardware in several models of phones... its just cheaper to do that for something that wouldnt need to change much like the radio, speaker sections, etc. Not really knowing the Android OS or even Linux for that matter, can you swap out drivers or just the software sections of the radio easily or is it built into the kernel or something like that? Just thought I would throw the thought out there and see if maybe I could get a better understanding of how it works ( or doesnt in this case)

Radio is proprietary LG source code, so you'll never get anything like that out of LG i.e. source from the enlighten. And the radio could matter, like in the case of the 2.1->2.2 transition, the old radio wouldn't boot 2.2 because the new 2.2 required a new radio version and some other things.

Now, I'm not trying to discourage anyone, just clarifying things.

Its the old plug and jug theory. Use what you have, modify what you get, throw away that dont work

Anythings possible, just have to put your mind to it.
Im hoping il have the weekly build links live by tomorrow night. Busy with life but il be sure to spare some time for the community. Basically a better version of the beta il have for you guys. Im trying guys, hoping for the best.
