It's here, ALPHA 2.1 (10-19-2011)

If you follow instructions there is really no risk.

So yeah it's a bit buggy, but the sense of joy I got at seeing android on this sucker was well worth it to me.

My roommate is waiting though, so I guess it just depends on whether the shear act of installing android will make you happy like it did me haha

Also if folks are unsure about whether they have novacom or not, or want to make sure this is where I got my copy at without getting all the extra stuff.

New Novacom Driver Installer!!! - PreCentral Forums

Turns out I already had it from WebOS Quickinstall but I removed that and installed this so it would be in a traditional folder that was easy to find.

Did you guys know it was Christmas already?! I had no idea.

CM installed and running AWESOME. I've had a couple of bugs, but nothing that hasn't already been documented elsewhere (reboot to webOS button doesn't work but who cares webOS is crap anyway; a couple of apps including Facebook aren't showing up in market; camera is buggy). I am SO PLEASED.

Thank you SO MUCH CMteam!! <3 I am eternally grateful!

I had decided not to install this because I was going to wait for a more fixed version... now I'm drinking... installed novacom... have read all day all the problems people have had with install and now know what to do and not what to do... so the question I pose... is it worth it for me to install this alpha?

I'm mostly a noob to this kind of thing (familiar with rooting/flashing, have no clue about the back end of things), and I had absolutely ZERO problems. Seriously, the hardest part of this install was figuring out where my novacom.exe file was, because for some reason it didn't show up in a system search. XD Once I finally got that worked out, everything was SMOOTH SAILING. No harder than a ROM flash (and in fact easier than some!).

EDIT: Ack, double post, sorry. D: I got excited...

Off topic... Trying out a new drink... (usually a Miller Lite guy after a long work week) ( I work 4 10 hr shifts so Thursday is my Friday) Jeremiah Weed - Roadhouse Tea... its pretty good, if you like sweet tea... but I might switch back to my Miller Lite...

I LOVE Jeremiah Weed! Ridiculously hard to get hold of over here though, only ever found one place that sells it.

So what browser do we recommend? Don't really want to go down the nightly route and I don't have access to the Amazon App Store ...

Am I really the only person here from the UK?

Figured out something... if you want your favorite app but can't find it on the market on your Touchpad... download it in market on your phone... backup with tibu... put the backup on your Touchpad... and then use tibu to restore it on your Touchpad... works great... running facebook and twitter market apps.

This may be a dumb question, but how do I transfer the backup from my phone to touchpad? I was thinking I could share the app from my phone through email but I've forgotten how.

Anybody tried/got YouTube yet? When I play videos, the video flashes and is scrambled like the old cable channels that you shouldn't be watching lol

This happens sporadically for me. About 80% of the time I have no issue, 20% of the time it happens.

Charging/power issues are common with the alpha, as are wifi problems, but nothing that makes it unusable.

@MongooseGA When you do a backup it goes onto your SD card, just copy the folder or files over to your "sd card" on your touchpad
