Wife's vette is still pretty much stock. That is unless you consider she painted it pink.
Um, a pink Corvette? Please tell me she didn't bedazzle it too

Yeah, but my Corvette puts out closer to 650hp. Can't add pixels to a screen like I can bolt a supercharger to mine.

Because car torque and horsepower are done at the crank. 300-320whp would equal a bit under, even or a bit over 350hp.

He's clueless.
By the by, Android Forums has a "friend" feature. It really doesn't do much, but it's there. I have a lot of friends. If anyone here wants to "friend" me, you're more than welcome. I'll accept you all, as I call you all my friends and brethren in this trench warfare.

Why the Galaxy Nexus Won't Matter | TechnoBuffalo
No, but if they came out with a pink phone, she'd probably buy it. Just like she bought a pink RAZR, back in the day. That's what they need to sell smartphones now. A pink Galaxy Nexus. On second thought, what is wrong with me suggesting that.Um, a pink Corvette? Please tell me she didn't bedazzle it too
I don't get all the hate over a phone or a corporation. Support Apple or support Google. Whatever floats your boat. In the end it's just technology. If you prefer an iPhone that's fine. It's your money. I had a 3G and a 3GS and then I got bored. Could I ever go back to an iPhone? Maybe.
This is just like the Ford vs. Chevy debates. There is no BEST option, only the one that works best for you personally. The bottom line is that most of the smartphones out today are light years ahead of what we had 3-4 years ago. Competition is good for the consumer. Enjoy your phones.

I told her I won't drive it. If anyone cares.
Right now, I'm not going to worry about the screen and the icons. Haven't had much issue with them on my Xoom. The Nook Color is only running gingerbread, so it's a little more cumbersome with onscreen buttons using button saviour (or something like it).Yeah, that was my point about rwhp. Cars are advertised with more horsepower than actually make it to the drive wheels to push the car forward, but it's not dishonest.
Correspondingly, ICS (the next Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich version that's debuting on the Nexus) reportedly consumes some of the screen pixels for software buttons. I'd prefer the buttons to be hideable as well, but it's not dishonest to advertise the phone's screen as 4.65" when that's what it is.
Awesome on both counts! Hope you get more great driving weather before snows hit Jersey.
It's a bit obvious...even current Android hardware already creams the iPhone in specs. It's the software that needs tweaking.
If ICS is done right, it should help a lot. I just wish the bloatware was kept to a minimum.
I think a lot of people have issues with the apparent "feel" of Android, especially the scrolling, as it isn't as fluid. I'm hoping ICS hardware GUI acceleration really helps that.I love the high level of customization that Android offers. I think iOS is a little bit smoother though. I'm really hoping that ICS will bring that highly polished feel to Android. Some people don't want to customize their phone and they like the Apple ecosystem. I can't fault them either.
This phone sounds awesome. ICS looks good. I will be watching on Tuesday night and hoping we get it on Verizon soon.
Good times.
How dare you bring logic and rational thought into this. That is way over the line and you should consider yourself lucky that I am far too busy trolling an iPhone forum right now to take the time to ban you for this.

One thing he mentioned is that ICS could rejuvenate older Android phones and tablets. I'm guessing this only includes devices with reasonable RAM (minimum 512MB?), but it really could make a difference in the user experience if it includes acceleration of the user interface using GPUs that existed in previous phones but wasn't formerly used by the UI.
Also, the native browser is much faster in ICS, so people who haven't already downloaded a fast alternative browser will get a big boost when they go on teh interweb.
Nice ride..."135i M....My next BMW" I've owned nothing but BMW's now for going on 15 years and don't plan on buying anything else anytime soon.I had a 2011 BMW 135i with the M sport package for 4 months and then a kid hit me and totaled it. .
I've always described how I feel about Apple and Android this way: Apple is great if you're not all that familiar with smartphones or computers in general, but want something that looks nice and is intuitive enough that you don't need to take the time to figure out how all the software works. It's like a smartphone with training wheels. Android, on the other hand, allows a LOT of customization and tinkering but makes some real sacrifices on ease of use, leading for a steeper learning curve for newbies. If you're familiar with computers or smartphones at all this probably won't be an issue, but for some it can be overly intimidating and confusing.
Put another way: If your 85 year old nan asked you to help her pick out a new smartphone to move away from the nokia brick she knows and loves, would you instinctively reach for a Droid or an iPhone? Personally, I'd be getting her the iPhone, knowing that she'll be able to pick it up quickly and use it fairly efficiently with little to no effort. Buy her a Droid though, and I'm probably going to have to spend some time showing her the ropes, teaching her the basics and then standing by as tech support when new issues pop up.
It doesn't make one better than the other, it just means they're good at different things.
Guys, I love the car talk, but. . . if you can talk about that, then I want to talk about horses!
This is one my dad's Arabian mares. Her name is Buttercup (from Princess Bride). She's very spirited, runs great. And I love her.
