I also recommend using Google for contacts as well. But if you still have any phone contacts backed up with Backup Assistant, I suggest exporting all your contacts from Backup Assistant, and importing them on Google. You can export them via the Backup Assistant website, once you export them, delete them from Backup Assistant. Then import them into google, use the merge tool to find duplicates and your in business! Just make sure when you add a new contact make sure the contact type is Google and not Phone. And make sure you skip backup assistant setup on the phone. Hope this helps!
This worked for me on the 2nd try. After the first try, I was told AGAIN that I did not have enough space. (my cache had been cleared). So I deleted enough apps to get me to 500 mb free, and I pulled my sd card. I then did the h boot thing again, and when I went to check for software updates, the uipdate was already being downloaded. Just rebooted and I everything worked.
Got the first update on Tuesday morning and went to work where we don't have cell service. I turned off my phone thinking it will be there to install after work - no such luck. Spoke to Verizon and all they can say is that my phone has received it, although it still shows 2.2 and to just wait at least 48 hours. Ok - 48 hours have come and gone. Any other advice as to getting the first update?
I did a factory reset & now I have the old market, which is a good thing because I didn't like the look of the updated version. Also, like many others, my app drawer stays open after selecting and exiting an app. Maybe it's suppose to do that, so if you exit one and want to go straight to another one, it's one less step. Not sure yet though. Anyone else experience this with the app drawer?
The first OTA came and went and I didn't install. How can I get it again? I've tried changing dates, times, checkin, reboot.....all to no avail. Is there a surefire solution?

Been lurking around enjoy reading and learning from you all! Thank you for all your help especially with the GB updates on my Dinc!!! Followed the suggestions of clearing the cache and moving my date ahead a year and I now have 4.08 and so far so good! Thank you again!
Received 1st update, 2nd update came 3x (1st: Not enough space, 2nd-3rd-came, counted down, nothing happened). Now I have followed today's posts and cleared cache, checked in and set the date forward a year, and it has not returned for another try. Just wait? PS, I have at least 525MB free on internal storage, is that enough? Should I remove the SD card before taking the update?
Thanks!

could somebody tell me if there is an easier way to clear the cache other than going into each application individually in the manage applications tab? thanks!

I was pretty much in same boat as you,
I went thru and deleted until I was over 500MB free, cleared cache using the hboot method, 'set date forward one month' route after wiping cache, then did the check for update took a few tries but it finally worked.
Massive power drain after it was complete, though that seemed to be due to all the auto updates and sync the phone was completing.
AT the very least I figure several apps will need re-tweaking in the power management and location aware area
I'm done trying all this stuff. I'll just wait to see if it comes around again on it's own. I do like the "refreshed feel" of the phone thought, after the factory reset. Either way, I'll be carrying a Nexus shortly anyway.
For several reasons, I am considering a factory reset to get all of the recent patches to install on my phone. Can anyone who has successfully done this provide step-by-step instructions on how to do this? In particular, I'm wondering whether the updates automatically pop up after the reset completes or whether I still have to go fiddling with the phone's date/time. Also, do I need to activate it before the updates pop up?
