Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I just set it up...pretty slick but it's not practical for me either. I am going on vacation next week and there are at least 8 isheep family members that I will be sure to turn it on for their viewing pleasure!

It does get annoying, but the biggest thing I've found it to be useful for is impressing non-tech people who want to know about the phone. They don't know about processing speed, LTE, software, and explaining any of that is a waste of time. But show them face unlock, and they oooh and ahhh over it. That, combined with showing them HQ videos on YouTube in full screen HD has gotten a few people to say "Oh, so that's why you waited so long."

Tangible evidence of the phone's greatness, my friends. Tangible evidence.

Ignore the crappy picture -- all I had was my webcam, but the USB host mode is definitely active in 4.0.2 since the pictures below both show my keyboard powered on and my flash drive lit up (which means its working). Just need to figure out how to read from the flash drive.

Well... I think the lighted flash drive is just indicating that it's receiving power, and that the keyboard will probably work but you won't mount the flash drive with a stock kernel.

Go ahead, prove me wrong. Won't be the first time I've eaten crow!

We've gotten reports that you can simply use the stock door with the extended battery, which means it should fit into the Diztronic case just fine. :)

Welcome! :)

I'm using a Dixtronic case with an extended battery...works just fine. The ext. battery adds VERY little thickness, and the case is flexible, so it's not a problem.

Thanks! Just ordered the extended battery at 50% off....still waiting on fedex, supposed to deliver by 3PM - They are now 1 min late!

I am having an issue with Exchange hosted email using Active Sync, with Mailstreet hosting.

I've got the right settings, but when you look in the inbox, only about 2 days mail, and then only about 30% of the normal mail volume.

Strangely, I sent a test email and it delivered to my desktop computer, but if you go into the sent mail subfolder on the Nexus, it's not there.

The contacts propagated into the phone from the hosted exchange, so that's working

I'll keep you posted

Ya know what.....

NEVER MIND!!!! :D

Don't think you will regret it a bit. I've posted it a few times, but on 3G (I don't have 4G) it is on par if not better than my old Inc, Continuum, and Eris were everywhere reception wise. Battery life is very nearly the same as well, with the edge to the Nexus.

I firmly believe the LTE issues everyone has are Network related and have nothing to do with the Nexus hardware or software, but hopefully I'm wrong and it will all be sorted with a few updates.

I would agree with that except I can't even get 3g in my house when I always did before. I think the radios on the phone are just terrible. Everything else is pretty much perfect, except reception which has been terrible...and not just for me.

I think I'm getting this and returning the extended battery:

Set Your Location

See, the extended battery isn't giving me as much extra juice as I would like. Also, my standard battery is useless, basically, because I don't want to have to carry a battery AND a cover around with me.

So I think I'll get this (battery+stand-alone battery charger+y cables) so I just have to throw the battery in my jacket pocket if I'm going to be away for longer than usual or something.

This always worked well for me and my OG. Three batteries = No Worries

Nowhere else to whine so I'll whine here... I'm still nexus free. Verizon has now twice refused to move up my 12/28 upgrade date to get this phone, even when I mentioned that I could walk over to Sprint, get added to my wife's account, get a Galaxy S2, buy out the rest of my verizon contract, and still save $1000 over the life of the contract. Bah.

I'm worried now that by the time I can upgrade I'll be hearing about the" next great thing" and will be stuck waiting another 6 months for it to drop. At least y'all will give me all the info I need to decide of the SGN radios and battery are acceptable. Help me keep the faith!

This. Keep trying and you will get someone to do it. When I was buying mine in store, the guy behind me told the CSR he is buying it outright and didn't care (he had a bionic and had no upgrade). The CSR was like are you sure you want to do that? That is a lot of money...The CSR left for 2 minutes, came back and said "I can push your upgrade up for you, you now have the 2 year price". The guy had a Bionic...He JUST upgraded that just months before and they pushed it up for him. Pretty crazy.

And as I was SUPER excited about the phone like everyone else, and I do love it, the reception is just awful. Yes, this is like the third post I've made about it in a very short period of time, but the wait won't be that bad. I am almost cell phone-less because the radios are so bad. Hopefully by the time you buy it everything will be worked out. I REALLY hope...

Sad to hear that. So far, I've had zero problems. I'm in a pretty well covered area though.

Well, I think it's the phone/software causing a non sync issue with Mailstreet.

I was able to get a tech to use my settings, password with his personal Sammy S2 and he pulled all my email etc, and he's running 3.5.xx

In other words, me suspects it's 4.0.2 or the phone but not my hosted exchange.

I'll keep you advised, but FYI if you're a hosted person like me.
