Ok so I basically have no hair left in my head after ripping it out over this the past few days. I have been running Cyanogenmod for at least six months and decided to switch to the ICS build a month or so ago. Updated it to fix the camera, gps, etc. and the other night it froze and when i rebooted it is stuck on the google unlock screen. Cant do anything in clockworkmod because it says unable to mount SD card. As you know, sprint nexus has internal memory so i cant swap sd card with another phone. I CANT DO ANYTHING WITHOUT MOUNTING THE SD CARD! All solutions i have seen involve factory reset (cant do), flashing a new ROM (cant do), and I am about to lose it someone please help.

What happens when you press the volume keys (either up or down)?

If nothing at all, I found this thread at XDA (new SD card may be needed):

First of all you are in good hands here now, but don't panic as the phone is not that old, and worst case scenario if you can't get it to boot, then Sprint won't be able to either, so you can have them replace it and you will be fine. I don't have a Samsung, but have you tried leaving the battery out for a few hours and then try to replace it and see what happens then, sometimes some phones need the battery out for longer period of times like the HTC because they have a fast boot feature, just a suggestion. ;)

+1

@ OP, I guarantee you know more than the average tech at a Sprint store. ;)

I agree with Don, if you can't boot into hboot, then they won't be able to deny you a new phone based on S-off. The worst that they will do is ask for $35 for a device service since it is still under warranty.

Sorry I have not been able to check back at all as I started a new job yesterday. I was waiting on calls from my boss about when to start etc. so I had to file it as lost with Asurion (sprints insurance) and they charged me a hundred bucks next day shipping. BUT i still have the old phone and I am not willing to give up on it. I will try and take the battery out for a while when home but don' t think that will work. The tech guy at Sprint said flash a new ROM but I can't because it is unable to mount the SD card when i go into clockwork mod. I have tried all the steps throughout that and nothings working. Remember its an internal SD card so I can't get a new one or thats what I would have done first!! Appreciate the help and feel free to ask more questions, anything helps. Thanks

I have the same issue every time I power off or put my phone in airplane mode. It will stay on the Google sign forever. Mine takes about 15 battery pulls before it will boot. After it boots it goes into a reboot cycle for about 30 minutes. The phone gets very hot. Not cure if the CPU gets stuck or not. After that the phone calms down and becomes stable. As long as I don't power off or go into airplane mode the phone is fine. It is stock, T-mobile model and I got 4.0.3 OTA. Hope this helps.
