Suggestions to make the clear button better. Put it here, put it there. Change the button change the color, blah bkah blah blah.



This is strictly for my own personal use. Trying to learn more about editing xml files and what does what and so forth.




Try to keep this on topic. I don't want to chit chat. Don't ask me about editing, how i did it, etc..... Pm me for stuff like that and I'll be happy to answer. I want what's asked above within this thread please.

I'd make the image either transparent so you only see the word "Clear" or make the button smaller

How about if you move the clear button to an Blue "X" and put in the corner like ICS.

Thats exactly where it was stock. Just said Clear instead of an X

I had it transparent and it just didn't look right. I had it the same as each one if the bars too, ongoing bar and that didn't look right either.


If i wanted to make a whole new button just for this, what would i have to do other than adding the image, calling for it in the xml. DJ i have to add a string or whatever it is? Can i just add the image and call for it in the xml?

That way all the buttons don't get changed, i can just make one for this.

So if i made a totally new one dedicated just got that, what else, where else would i add the info? Like styles or strings or can i just add the image and call for it?

Just copy the status bar and paste it where it needs to be then rename it to whatever that button is called. I see what what you are saying but thats just too much work Ahaha But the word "Clear" is in the strings. You can change it to say whatever you want.

Ok. I didn't know if i had to add more info somewhere so it could be recognized.

I'm just gonna leave it as clear. Maybe "clear notifications". leave the font blue.

I have a two toned bar i might try and put the opaque around 75. Hmmm that might look badass.

I was thinkin along the lines of what nuttmeg said too.. tone it done a little.. that grey behind the clear button stands out too much.. otherwise slick..

Yeah i agree it's bright. But it's the stock button that's used everywhere so i had to use something to get a starting point. Thanks for your input

It's very nice.
The only quibble, and don't know if it falls under advice you're not looking for,,,I personally need more color contrast to be able to read everything...
The blue on such a background, once the font is smaller/not bolded, would give me problems....especially under bright light, or when depending on settings 'the screen brightness is diminished'.

Yeah that's just my personal preference. This is just about the clear button
