And if Sprint buys metro that will take a lot of worries away from people that thought cdma was dead in 2015 I support either buy out
Yep...plus gsm is the future.
Tmobile could end up taking a lot of the big boy's customers...port over other phones, use them when traveling, pay much less....
As cable has seen, cellular pricing way too high and customers resisting
I would like that.
Maybe vzw should buy you...it would be a great way to gain an inexpensive prepay market. VZ has the money (on hand) to make your towers work like ours. But then there is the draconian rule...
A Sprint takeover would essentially kill Metro. That's what they did with Nextel who I had. When they took over Nextel service and everything else went to shit.
As fart as Tmo taking over Metro? Expect the same thing. Crappy service and Metro to disappear regardless of what they are telling you. Make no mistake about it, Tmo doesn't want Metro for a prepaid outlet or their customers(though they will take them) they want Metro for their LTE network even though it's nowhere near what Verizon or AT&T have it's still better than nothing which is what Tmo has now.
As far as your CDMA phone? It's a paperweight because as soon as they can Tmo will shut down that CDMA network and put all it's efforts into expanding the LTE.
If I were still with Metro I wouldn't even think of buying a phone regardless of what it is. Imo Metro customers are in a bad spot regardless of who merges with them. They are/were better off staying small and keeping their little niche market they had since they were by far the best at it and the best option out there.
Watch out. I said the same thing and almost got shot. Lol
found an old article on the sprint/nextel merger
Sprint, Nextel Detail Merger Agreement (washingtonpost.com)
makes you wonder..
Yeah I'm sure that people are not going to believe it or want to hear it but that's the reality of the situation. They are going to tell Metro customers what they want to hear but in the end both Sprint and Tmo could care less.
For both of them it's about the spectrum and other assets, not the customer base. That unlimited plan people have on Metro will disappear or the price will get jacked up to offset the costs of any merge.
I personally think that it doesn't matter who gets Metro because within a few years Verizon and AT&T are going to be the main carriers to choose from. As it stands now Sprint and Tmo are both struggling and a merge is only a temporary band-aid to fix their issues.
Ohhh that would be nasty lol
