Root CyanogenMod 10.1 [ROM] WILD FOR THE NIGHT - Sprint/Virgin Mobile

Due to CM upstream changes, the latest versions of this ROM need an updated ADB version to connect to the phone... but I don't want to install the entire SDK just to use ADB. I've been using a mini SDK which just has the few files required to use ADB/fastboot, but I haven't had any luck finding an updated version of this. Does anyone know where I can find one?

A version with the security update was post by davidmargolin in http://androidforums.com/evo-v-4g-all-things-root/690597-adb-4-2-2-a.html about a week ago.

You don't need to worry about it unless you are the 4.2.2 (WFTN) version but my understanding is that you can replace the files in the ADB/fastboot directory on your PC with the ones in the zip file and they will work with both 4.2.2 and older versions.

I have a question gentlemen.

I'm loving the ROM, but everytime I try to reboot or turn my phone on, the screen wont illuminate after the CM bootscreen for like 3 mins, and when it does it always says "Sorry Youtube stopped working, unexpectedly"

This is not a major issue, more of an annoyance, but I was wondering if anyone knew how to solve this problem besides removing the youtube app all together.

I'm on a Evo v 4g and using the Feb 27th of this rom if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

GPS has problems with this rom, alien rom, and mazda's 4.2 rom, it seems.

Simply opening up google maps and getting a fix doesn't mean it "works fine." I'm kinda irritated when people say that, to be honest.

GPS tracking your location in real time has major issues. Sure. I get a fix immediately just like everyone else. Once you move from that location or try to use navigation then that's when the problems begin. If you turn off location services while its trying to re-fix your location, it will reboot the device.

This should be in a buglist for any roms that are currently affected.

Would the ac!d mod work on this? And which one do I install? I want better sound with this rom and I've heard great things about that mod. Can someone tell me which one to flash cause they have like 2 or 3 and it confuses me.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. It was pre-included in my 4.2.1 rom but not in 4.2.2. So last night I flashed it and it's working great on 4.2.2.

I know what you mean, it's a little confusing to figure out what you're looking for at first.

Get the one for AOSP ROMS

ibeimpsmi9V5I5.png

1.Take nandroid backup
2.Flash the downloaded file in CWM
3.Wipe dalvik cache
4.fix permission in recovery
5.reboot your phone
That's all

No need to really fix permissions as you will see it does it automatically in the flashing process... Takes awhile to flash because of that.

It automatically deletes that for you in the flashing process. I also use poweramp and poweramp was one of the two music players they suggested.

Last question... I don't feel like reinstalling the rom and doing a fresh flash of everything so is that required? I'm not looking forward to backing up the apps to reinstall them. This to me is a waste of time if it's not necessary Lol thanks B-Man!

I saw that they suggest flashing over a fresh install but I made a backup first and just flashed over the top of my current rom and it's working perfectly as far as I can tell. So just make a nandroid in case something goes wrong for you and give it a flash! :)

Hey, for those having issues with GPS, xthedakmanx posted a fix over at XDA. Haven't tested it extensively myself yet, but it did lock on for me, whereas before I got absolutely nothing.

Excuse my sloppiness, I'm beat.

For those wondering, I flashed this last week before my spring break and never had an issue with GPS the entire week. About 20 hours driving total. I think I lost signal two or three times but it quickly regained it.

I'm three days into the "wild for the night" cyanogen 10.1 mod. I read that 3d camera wouldn't work, but wondered have you heard of a fix for the video camera. Just shooting 10 sec of the house mutt and that tearing happens on every shooting. Tried about 4 times. First one wouldn't play at all and rest are just really bad tearing.

I'm searching threads for answers, but wanted to ask you too.

I almost always have problems with video on aosp roms. It will randomly work on certain builds but video never seems to be consistent. At least not for me...
