I could easily see the X being sold only thru the Play Store because of the new Droid phones. That would be new territory for Verizon. But what I really can't wait for VoLte and getting any phone I want to use on Verizon.

Early reports suggested that the X will be available for VZW, however the pricing will be a bit higher for the VZW version. I don't remember the specifics, but I do remember reading this somewhere.

I'll have my hands on the at&t LTE banded 32GB variant...

Well that's rumors for you? Don't believe it until its released is the stance I've taken the last few years! Believe the hype and you'll usually be disappointed.

But IMO those specs are fine! A 10mp shooter, a 720P screen, a nice speedy processor, most likely a very good radio, and hopefully classic moto build quality!

What is there not to like? Honestly a 1080P screen IMO is a sales tactic, the human eye can't keep up with these crazy sales tactics on screens, and the megapixel wars need to stop raging, HTC has already shown everyone that its possible to not put a ton of megapixels in a phone and with good software still create a beautiful shot.

For $299 the X Phones specs seem fine in my book! But to each his own...

No meaning it will be the same phone, just have VZW bands on board and cost more to buy and then use on they're network. VZW is not very big on unlocked phones...lmaoooo- they refuse to except that its 2013 and not 2006 when they had the best network in town. All of the other carriers have caught up, and in certain areas actually have better service. However they refuse to be for the customer and continue to go against the grain. I mean take a look at they're marketing campaign....Drooooooooid, they're still running this played out Droid stuff... I mean come on! They're living in the dark ages and really need to wake up.

If it does in fact pan out they VZW wants to charge more money for the same phone that other networks are selling at a lessor price...well then that's crazy! Especially if the specs are the same and they're justification is that it just costs more to run on they're network.

Specs look fine to me. My main concern is the battery life. Battery at 1850 mAh in my Galaxy Nexus sucks and the Moto X is only 2200 mAh. How much more efficient will the Moto X run? At least if I'm in a pinch, I can switch out the battery in the GNex.

It's going to be SIGNIFICANTLY better. The whole chipset is incredibly more efficient. I have the Nexus 4 which has the same batter capacity as the Verizon extended (2100 mAh) and battery life is doubled what the gnex offered. It was tough to squeeze over 2.5 hours of screen time on that Gnex battery and can regularly get 4.5-5 hours on the Nexus 4.

Yeah, I got tired of their crap as well and fled to T-Mobile and couldn't be happier. Now I can actually have a large selection of phones without locked bootloaders.

I have considered, especially now that the Moto X is on the way, going to T-Mobile since if you buy the phone outright, your monthly cost for unlimited talk, text and web is a negligible cost.

It's actually very good if you live relatively close to a city. Data speeds fly due to less congestion and a better frequency for speeds. Once you get further away from the city, then you tend to drop down to 2g, which is fine for calling or texting, but pretty tough to use data on. There's been a couple of buildings that signal doesn't penetrate very well through, but I call it good enough to be worth saving roughly $110 dollars per month.

As for the Moto X, AT&T will be getting a version and will likely be compatible with T-Mobile frequencies. Getting one of those and having AT&T sim unlock it for you might be the way to go if there isn't a T-Mobile specific version. Not sure on international versions though.

I've never tried this, but I remember someone mentioned something about going to a tmobile store and getting a loaner device to test signal with.

It looks like I am the only one married to Verizon. I have seen that there is no beating their coverage. Whenever I go to national parks and visit other far-flung areas, most of the time, I am the only one who has any signal on their phone. I had AT&T earlier and it did not hold a candle to Verizon's coverage and reliability. I am not sure if it has improved over the last 2 years

I haven't had a single dropped call in over 2 years. On AT&T, I'd lose connectivity the moment the elevator doors closed or if I entered the basement parking garage. I have had none of that to contend with on Verizon. The biggest problem is their delay in introducing new devices and the absence of Nexus devices. I wish they offered Nexus phones. I don't care if I had to sit on the same OS version after that. It is perfectly okay with me

Nope, not the only one. I stick with them for coverage alone. My son is a wildlife biologist (working on his Masters, yay!), so imagine the places he works and lives for months at a time. He doesn't always have stellar coverage and does run into dropped calls but at least he can make them and use maps/data etc.
I'd love to be able to switch to something cheaper but just can't. So, in the meantime, I love to hate Verizon. I pay the subsidized price for unsubsidized phones (month to month) and they charge way too much for that anyway. I still have unlimited data on 3 of 4 lines so there is that I guess. I hate them and their outrageous cost and sneaky ways ($35 or whatever it is to upgrade etc.) but I can't be without the coverage.
When the X is officially out I may pick at least one up, and continue to love to hate Verizon.

Nope, you're not the only one. I'm on Verizon as well, coverage by any other carrier in my area is dodgy at best. I get the best reception in any area. Couple that with Motorola's radios and I will rule the air with the Moto X.

The bootloader will be an issue, but honestly, since ICS on my GNex I've run pretty much stock, and knowing I can freeze bloat now, that may not be as much of an issue.

I think I missed it, how do you freeze bloat without rooting? I'm really thinking the maxx is my next phone. The non-pentile display sealed the deal. The only draw back is lack of sd...and this root issue.

If you go to apps option in your settings, there should be an option to disable an app when you tap a specific one that can't be uninstalled.

Settings | Apps | All | Stupid Carrier Bloatware POS App --> Tick the disable button and aside from it's storage footprint it is as good as gone. Not in the app drawer, not starting itself, it is as good as uninstalled.
