Root [MetroPCS & T-Mobile] [RECOVERY][CWMR][DEV] Clockworkmod Recovery for the LG Optimus F3 MS659 (fx3mt)

I've compiled a cwmr but I can't get the loki_tool to run to patch it. When I try to patch the img i get this: cannot execute binary file

I am new to the loki thing so any comments/tips are greatly appreciated.

cmd is loki_patch. ;)

and I have a f3 now thanks to AndroidAddict sending me his bricked one. ;)

There is no way to unlock our bootloader. To install this just use one of the recovery installer apps from the Play Store.

Yeah I thought so about the bootloader and I just flashed it with lte2 2nd init recovery. And I find the best method to boot into cwm 6.0.4.7 is to use gravitybox in the xposed module and enabling advanced reboot to get the option to soft reboot and reboot into recovery. They also give the option to reboot into bootloader, so whats that?

LG disabled booting into bootloader, it will just reboot if you select it.

How would you go by booting into this recovery, especially if your bricked? I flashed this with 2nd init and if I boot with power+volume down, it doesn't factory reset or boot into recovery, it just boots normally.

Edit: I tried the toggling power up and down and then I started to boot loop into cwm and couldn't boot normally anymore. I didn't know how to cold boot, so I had to flash the t-mobile firmware again to fix it.

OK just want to let you guys know to stop using 2nd-init recovery and switch to PG's CWM recovery. 2nd-init clashes with loki'd kernels and causes it not to work properly.

To boot into PG's recovery without getting your data wiped you can use any of the following rebooter apps...
  1. Rebooter
  2. Recovery Reboot
  3. Quick Boot
There's other apps you can use to boot into recovery, but I'm just making mention of these right now. Second app on the list is my own which I include in my custom roms in a recovery menu.

If you're ever bricked, power off the phone then hold vol down + power to get into recovery. This will wipe/corrupt data. Then you just go into mounts and storage in recovery and format data to fix the corruption. Then you can restore a backup to unbrick.

;)

I'm pretty sure the whole factory reset thing happens because of the phone's kernel. Me and xclusive36 found that out when he flashed freedom kernel on his virgin mobile phone. As of now i think this is still the most reliable recovery we have so far as it can boot into recovery while TWRP cannot. The only downside is CWM's interface isn't that good as there's no confirmation for backing up like TWRP.

I've found out that when booting into recovery with the button combo it deletes data after exiting recovery. so I guess the best is to restore and then boot normally and then boot into recovery again to do the actual restore
Yes never boot up after a flash or restore just turn off then tebot that's how I have to do it

No our kernel for the t-mobile/metro pcs F3 deletes data with a factory reset when booting into recovery with a button combo. He found out that it does the deletes data after exiting recovery so we need to do a restore, reboot normally (where the factory reset would happen), and then immediately reboot back into recovery to do the actual restore. Turning off and on after restoring or flashing roms would not make a difference for us due to the kernel. I always just do a reboot after flashing and I never ran into a problem.
