Help perfect video converter for sony X10

hey mhere, i have tried several different programs; super, avs, and some other no namers and the simplest way that works for me is using media go program that comes with the phone. the program itself recognizes avi, divx files and what not and if the format doesn't suit the phone then it converts the files automatically so by the time its uploaded to your phone it's watchable. the transfer time will seem to take awhile but thats because the files being converted. and if the screen seems small just double tap the screen to full screen it, hope this helps!

The Media Go program is part of the ericsson pc suite. Have you laoded that onto your computer? The first option that comes up will be Media Go
Negative. I did not get a cd/dvd with the phone. I have the SE Update Service installed from their webpage, but thats it.
If its an auto-run thing, that could explain it, as I always 'open folder' so that I can drag-n-drop stuff onto the SD.

i don't think anyone's x10 came with a cd/dvd. x10 came with a 16gb memorycard that had installation file that installs ericsson pc suite with media go. it was in the list of options when you connect x10 to the computer via usb. but like dunc-x10 said you can download it from the internet also

I use psp video 9 to convert my videos to mp4 for my x10 and the picture quality is amazing. Great picture clarity and fluid rendering. Give it a go, its free for download.

I use the ps3 device with mpeg4 avc 1080p 2-pass profile
use generic 2-pass, high profile, 3.1 level, abr mode, 5120kbps bitrate
854x480 resolution and max resolution, original aspec ratio and framerate

I use these settings to convert my camcorder mts file. Works great and fast conversion.

Who needs a converter when you have this baby.. http://db.tt/fe6xq7

and this is not even the final version.. but this divx player runs smooth! Thought yxflash was decent although it lagged a little but this 1 suprised me.. its the best ive seen by far!!

Btw when you start files ul see like frames per sec info in corner but if u jus tap screen and double tap the divx sign it will disappear. Then hit the fullscreen icon on the bottom left and your good to go ;-)

Hope it helpz!! and enjoy!!

Alright, I finally got around to getting MediaGo installed, and I have to say that its THE app to use. (It was not included with my phone, and I did have to download it from the sony website)

I transferred over a few albums (mp3) and a quick movie-clip to try out. The original format was .AVI (divx), I simply dragged it over to the phone, and it began its work. It re-encoded/converted the .avi to a format that the phone likes, and transferred it over as well. The entire process took just a couple of minutes (small file). The video looked GREAT on the phone, and there was no noticable quality loss, or black bars.

If you want to get movies/videos onto your phone, use this app. No need to mess around with re-encoding it yourself, or picking the appropriate resolution. This is as simple as dragging an file over to your phone and it does the rest of the work.

thanks to everyone who pointed me in this direction.

Heard about that player, but I have not installed it as I read it requires 2.1. Is it working fine on your X10? Thanks,
