Gingerbread 2.3 was here, then gone, now it's back

You can follow this to downgrade to 2.2, and if you want to root.

"Soon" could be Nov. 10. That's about 3 weeks away.

wait - so this allows a stock, never rooted phone that got the 2.3 OTA update to downgrade back to 2.2 and hopefully get rid of all these problems that showed up with the update?

Yes, that is the hope. (haven't tried it)

Yes it does. I just did it and it worked perfectly! Had to use the 2nd option. Rerooted incredible!

I am rooted and have been for a couple months now so I already know about 2.3.4 but I agree - it's piddly compared to the fun in ICS.

It's frustrating waiting for GB when everyone else is already talking ICS. By the time my DInc gets GB I'll be able to upgrade to a phone pre-loaded with Ice Cream Sandwich.

Yeah. If I ate nothing but Ice Cream Sandwiches, I think I'd gain a couple hundred pounds before OTA GB showed up.

Or at least parts of it. I know our phones are little powerhouses but I think at some point the updates will be too much for them to handle in full. Just my opinion !
