T-Mobile/Metro Talks

i think if anyone else were to take metro other than tmobile it would be bad. i see tmobile keeping metropcs as a seperate company and sharing towers. however with that they would either have to start throttling metro unltd web or making theirs unlimited.
the mother company is looking for profit and by keeping metro and tmobile seperate they would be making more profit than swallowing metro. and for those of you that say tmobile doesnt care about the 9mil users on metro think again those 9mil users are running on a lower maintenance company/network meaning the profit drawn through 9 mil on metro is marginally higher than that drawn on 9mil of tmobiles network even though tmobile charges more. there also those that are commited to metro because of the simplicity and pricing as well as reliability in some markets such as mine.

for tmobile to try and eliminate metro completely would be a stupid idea and waste of money. all they want to do is share metros towers and have a prepaid income whilst they rise to the level of verizon and att beaause right now they are caught in the middle where they are becoming more undesired. they have crappy service and moderate pricing. metro has somewhat crappy service with much lower pricing so why pick tmobile over metro. verizon and att have highly reputable service at higher prices. who wants a contract price for crappy service? thats also why sprint is struggling.
looking at growth and not the instantaneous situation over the past few years metro beats sprint tmobile (aand att until recently). they have been constantly improving while others have been struggling. it scares both sprint and tmobile who have been forced to bring down their prices because of that

I would like that.

I don't think Sprint buying us at this point would be a good thing. T-mobile seems to be doing as part of an actual business strategy that makes sense for them to acquire MetroPCS. Sprint on the other hand seems to be doing as a defensive play and would probably neglect if not just shut down MetroPCS.

A Sprint takeover would essentially kill Metro. That's what they did with Nextel who I had. When they took over Nextel service and everything else went to shit.

As fart as Tmo taking over Metro? Expect the same thing. Crappy service and Metro to disappear regardless of what they are telling you. Make no mistake about it, Tmo doesn't want Metro for a prepaid outlet or their customers(though they will take them) they want Metro for their LTE network even though it's nowhere near what Verizon or AT&T have it's still better than nothing which is what Tmo has now.

As far as your CDMA phone? It's a paperweight because as soon as they can Tmo will shut down that CDMA network and put all it's efforts into expanding the LTE.

If I were still with Metro I wouldn't even think of buying a phone regardless of what it is. Imo Metro customers are in a bad spot regardless of who merges with them. They are/were better off staying small and keeping their little niche market they had since they were by far the best at it and the best option out there.

Watch out. I said the same thing and almost got shot. Lol

Yeah I'm sure that people are not going to believe it or want to hear it but that's the reality of the situation. They are going to tell Metro customers what they want to hear but in the end both Sprint and Tmo could care less.

For both of them it's about the spectrum and other assets, not the customer base. That unlimited plan people have on Metro will disappear or the price will get jacked up to offset the costs of any merge.

I personally think that it doesn't matter who gets Metro because within a few years Verizon and AT&T are going to be the main carriers to choose from. As it stands now Sprint and Tmo are both struggling and a merge is only a temporary band-aid to fix their issues.

it really doesnt make any sense on either side. metro was in very good standing where they were at. they did not need this at all. 5th biggest carrier, #1 prepaid. and they were only getting better with the S3 coming and their potential upgrade to voLTE. it makes no sense for metroPCS to sign their life away.

eating metro isnt gonna save tmobile from going under. at best it will delay it a year or two.
