well worth a careful read:
Internet Regulation & the Economics of Piracy | Cato @ Liberty
Downloaded airdroid and it looks like it could be a hit. Copied my photos (no videos yet) to my PC. Controls are a bit odd, but nothing major. Export to import to PC. If this could get root controls that would be very nice and stay free, but a couple dollar purchase would still make this a nice program
Gmaps has an update in market. Some people have reported weird battery drain and maps showing up randomly in their battery usage stats, but they never opened it.
i've been firing it up in situations where you can't use your phone and having text conversations with people through the computer. iphone users are jelous
you have 45's?! you may be OLD, like me.
Got any 8-tracks?
My son is a working DJ now, and he dug out my cache of old 60's and 70's vinyl and is actually using them in his shows. Rediscovering some old classics together.
p. s. I did learn that itunes allows multiple uses and copies of your paid download, all for the one purchase price. I believe you should pay once and have the right to use it in any format.
Hey guys, would anyone have a clue as to why estrongs file manager won't move, copy, cut, delete any file on my SD card in my Galaxy Tab 7 plus? I can delete and move or do whatever I want on the internal storage, but the SD card seems to be protected. I'm usually pretty good at figuring stuff like this out, but everything I've tried doesn't work.
I am anti-government involvement, but let's face it: megaupload is certainly one of the file hosting sites most likely to have illegal files making up a large percentage of its hosting. I think it's safe to assume that sites which contain lots of adult banner ads, pop-up ads and misleading redirects are also accepting of "questionable" activities. Simply having a TOS page that discourages illegal activity is as ridiculous as having a splash page that asks the visitor to submit whether he is 18 years of age. Really? If I am transferring files for my business, I'm using yousendit or my public dropbox folder before using sites like megaupload and rapidshare. Just saying.
But don't worry pirates. These sites are a dime a dozen and for every one taken down, 3 more will spring up. TPB was a great source for illegal torrents that got the nix, but kickass quickly replaced them and its like nothing ever happened.
Pirates will be pirates and the government will be big brother. Nothing's gonna change other than the players.
Does estrongs show file permissions? If you have an app that does, you can easily check to see if the sdcard share is set to 766 (rwxrw-rw-) or 777 (rwxrwxrwx). If the sdcard is not set up that way, you can see whether you are able to edit the permissions (assuming you are not rooted).
Tpb is still up last I checked but using public trackers is just asking for trouble imo. Thank god so many people use them and keep the heat off the real trackers.
I don't pirate any media or software - if I can afford to pay the legal fees and fines when I get caught I can certainly afford the media.
Any of you like Live Walls? Adryn compiled this for 4.0.3 and a little further down in the thread made one for 4.0.2. It's the rotating galaxy and is as smooth as butter (just like phase beam)!
I'll check that when I get home, but yes I am rooted.
Not old at all, I am in my late forties.
I had some 8-tracks when I was a tween, but LP's was the norm.
Cassettes were out by the time I started driving.
Anyone in here ever bothered trying to build their own custom rom from aosp?
Ah, I've got 10 years on you.
Cassettes were big when I was a young driver. And my "fondest" memory was of the tape unspooling INSIDE the player and having to pull out a 50 foot length of 1/8 inch tape. Like the player vomited tape. Much happier when CD's took over. Even more now with MP3's and Sirius.
My dad used to have a big garbage bag full of 8-tracks. When I was a kid our stereo in the living room played 8-tracks, LP's and cassette. The first time I heard Bill Cosby's "Himself" was on 8-track and listened to it many times. There was a Lilly Tomlin one also. And I'm only 34.

BB, have you watched the rest of the series yet?
I love this stuff
No making faces about being older. Those of us that are younger have benefitted from your experience and knowledge. At least I have.
And being here teaches me something every day.
That reminds me about something about old dogs learning new tricks, but I forget. Where was I?
No. I lost my watching partner. And it was nice watching with a fan because I got tidbits of info. And i could ask questions. So now I guess I will have to watch solo.
Awe. Sorry to hear that. Alone or with someone, either way it is still good
Now go home and start watching. Tell your boss. I'm sure he/she will understand LOL
Good Afternoon all. Well for those of you following the one way audio issues, I am afraid the re-provisioning did not work; I had two of three calls this morning all loose the mic. I called Verizon tech support again and got a very helpful guy that seems to think that given I have tried a new SIM, reprovisioned, factory reset and even tried a rom, that the issue is with the handset (btw dont you love when you get a knowledgeable support person that actually knows our phone and respects your knowledge )They are sending out a new gnex today. I am hopeful this solves my problem, I need to have the gnex work as a phone first and foremost. I do however think that there are many reasons why this problem could happen and some of those reasons are fixed for a lot of people by the above methods. If my new gnex repeats the problem, then I am leaning towards it being a particular app causing the problem. Lets hope not because it would be difficult to figure out which app as the problem is intermittent. I will post an update when I get the new phone.
I want to watch. I enjoyed it a lot. But it was nice to be able to look at him and say 'what is that?' or 'who is that?'
I'll watch, don't worry.
My boss is pretty understanding but I think I'll stick out the rest of the day.
Anyone want to beef up their blu-ray collection? You have to be a prime member though.
Link didn't work. Anyways. Amazon Prime members can get select blu-rays for $9.99 and free shipping.
I used to have a bunch of them, but when I went back to school I needed money so I had to sell them all.
Nice to see that, BB.
It almost makes all the aches and pains worthwhile.
