    hey guys.
I can't get rid of a message that pops up on my screen every second. I've tried the ways it says to be fixed on the net but won't work. The message is

unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
It's doing my head in I can't even restore my phone as the message won't disappear for long enough.

What device do you have, and have you tried the Factory Reset via recovery listed in that guide?
What errors are you getting when trying to reset?

Edit: by the way, WELCOME!! :D

Yes tried factory reset as well just won't work. I've got htc desire. It's the same message it literally pops up every second, when I click reset the message stays on the screen and my phone freezes. And thank you :)

Hmm, not really familiar with the HTC Desire, but perhaps a fresh flash of an RUU (rom utility update ?) may work.
Here is the forum you could look through to do that:
    http://androidforums.com/forums/root-htc-desire.198/
    In particular, this root forum:
    http://androidforums.com/forums/root-htc-desire.198/

If you have another variant of the Desire, we have alot of forums to check for your paricular variant:

    http://androidforums.com/categories/android-phones.3/

Let me know if you need more help and we can try to direct you towards the thread for help:)

I know of 2 members that may be able to assist, @El Presidente or @scotty85 .
What country/carrier is the device used in/with?

If your device is indeed the HTC Desire and not some other variant, I could move this thread over to that linked forum if you desire (lousy pun intended :) )

TBH, if you have the cash and are resigned to defeat, it's probably best. The Desire is an old phone and if you're still getting error messages after a factory reset, the device is most likely on its way out.

Didn't I literally just say, they don't make 'em like they used to? :p
