hey guys.
I can't get rid of a message that pops up on my screen every second. I've tried the ways it says to be fixed on the net but won't work. The message is

unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
It's doing my head in I can't even restore my phone as the message won't disappear for long enough.

Hmm, not really familiar with the HTC Desire, but perhaps a fresh flash of an RUU (rom utility update ?) may work.
Here is the forum you could look through to do that:
http://androidforums.com/forums/root-htc-desire.198/
In particular, this root forum:
http://androidforums.com/forums/root-htc-desire.198/

If you have another variant of the Desire, we have alot of forums to check for your paricular variant:

Let me know if you need more help and we can try to direct you towards the thread for help:)

Ive tried them all now and still popping up so will just buy a new phone. Been trying all day and no luck. Wanted to give it a go before buying another. Thank you for your help :)

TBH, if you have the cash and are resigned to defeat, it's probably best. The Desire is an old phone and if you're still getting error messages after a factory reset, the device is most likely on its way out.

No problemo :)
Glad to see the ol' Desire made it this far:)

Didn't I literally just say, they don't make 'em like they used to? :p
