Help Need help with unwanted message

hey guys.
I can't get rid of a message that pops up on my screen every second. I've tried the ways it says to be fixed on the net but won't work. The message is

unfortunately, the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped.
It's doing my head in I can't even restore my phone as the message won't disappear for long enough.

Thank you for that. Just tried them all and none worked. I can't even restore my phone for some unknown reason

What device do you have, and have you tried the Factory Reset via recovery listed in that guide?
What errors are you getting when trying to reset?

Yes tried factory reset as well just won't work. I've got htc desire. It's the same message it literally pops up every second, when I click reset the message stays on the screen and my phone freezes. And thank you

Just restored my phone and the message is still popping up I would say my phones had it really

Hmm, not really familiar with the HTC Desire, but perhaps a fresh flash of an RUU (rom utility update ?) may work.

What country/carrier is the device used in/with?

TBH, if you have the cash and are resigned to defeat, it's probably best. The Desire is an old phone and if you're still getting error messages after a factory reset, the device is most likely on its way out.
