Root New FROYO Leak - FRF57

Fresh leak. This one will allow Chrome-to-Phone to work (confirmed). Various devs are working on new ROMS based off this one.

Instructions:
These are Nandroid backups. Unzip to appropriate folder on SD card, depending upon your recovery image (same routine as before).

*If you're coming from a previous 2.2 ROM to this new build, I recommend you do not wipe your DATA. It will save you lots of time / headaches.*

Recommended procedure:
Backup existing ROM and DATA.
Do advanced Nandroid restore after placing new FRF57 in appropriate folder.
Individually install all components except DATA.
Reboot.
You should now have a new, tasty bowl of Froyo w/ all your apps, data and homescreens intact.

Both files come with a 600mhz kernel, and are rooted. Alternate kernels reportedly work, but YMMV. There may be problems w/ some of the newer LV froyo kernels. Have fun.

LOL. I just saw the MDW thread also, right before you posted that. This stuff is happening sooo fast. I don't know what the updated MDW ROM is based on, tho? Is that a FRF57 build? Does it break root? These are ?'s that need A's.

Yeah I know the MDW P3 ROM has root, but I don't know that it's the same as the FRF57 leak...which was just leaked a little while ago. I think we're talking about 2 diff't ROMS here. The FRF57 is a raw Moto build w/out root as I understand it.

Edit: I guess you can run the update.zip included in that thread, and you'll gain root back.

Anybody brave? Wanna try it out?

Are you going to flash the MDW leak? Can you confirm that it's FRF57?

My phone is at 20%, so I'm gonna charge it a little before I play around in recovery.
