A little over 24 hours ago my Evo fell into the bathtub. I quickly retrieved it, shook off what water I could, opened it to dry what I could reach and let it sit, with battery and SD card removed, to air dry. Last night I bought rice, put the phone, battery and SD card into a bowl and covered them with it.
I turned it on, and it went into a loop wherein the "HTC Evo 4G" screen appears, then the screen goes black, then it reboots and repeats.
My phone is rooted, with Capt. Throwback's stock ROM. Using Power+vol up, I got to the recovery menu and selected "Simlock" and got a message like, "SD fail init."
I installed a 32G SD card recently, so I thought the card itself might have been ruined, so I reinstalled the original one. The looping behavior continued.
Any suggestions? Should I simply leave the phone in rice for another day or two?
