Hey community. I was just told that ajac, our wonderful poster over here has been spreading some not so nice rumors about me. Apparently i google everything and just tell you. I wish google worked like that, u know, it having information on the internet before it exists. Someone should make a search engine like that, call it time geenie, it will make you lots of money.

Also, ajac, there are two SPECIFIC dates. That right. I;m NOT saying that Sprint will release the phone on both either. I said bestbuy will release on one and Sprint on the otehr, hence 2 SEPERATE release dates. You catch my drift? If you want the sprint one its a solid June 13th, as of now, if nothing else sets back. Originally the phone was supposed to be late May, but May is not even in the equation. So as you say its May, you are wrong.

Self Praise has said i am valid. He and I have talked on our own and he will back me on what i say as i will back him. He works with early prototypes and is contract bound to not say certain things. I am NOT. My good buddy works there and i spread the stuff SP can't. If you have a problem with what i say, or something is wrong (so far i have been right on and said everything before google has come out with it...) then don;t listen and comment about it here or on other sites.

I am here for you community and i give you REal HARD info on what you can't google. I'm not a fricken search engine, I'm a rumor busting fact making machine.

"on the android forums but the posts are gone.. and wjackson still hasnt had a single correct predicition. April 16th false.. and now he is making sure he doesnt say much else he has 2 dates going 6th and 13th.. funny thing about those dates are their both sundays... sprint most likely will launch on a saturday like the pre last year. and now rumors are pointing to a may release... so we shall see if he turns out to be wrong yet again I plan on posting on the android forums that he is a fraud and always has been. I agree. When the EVO is released, the Incredible won't even come close. My guess is a lot of people buying that phone will be switching to the Sprint for their WiMAX service and the EVO 4G. In fact, I think Sprint will be getting a lot of their customers back.

Hey guys.

First the disclaimer. I am a EVO only Fan. I can not wail until it drops.

I just had a chance to play with the incredible. I called a few of the local Verizon stores here in town to ask about the phone. They gave me the normal.. not in yet.. let me get your number... then one guy said hold on... When he came back he told me that they had one that I could play with. So I was a few mins away and I zoomed over. I had to wait a few mins because another guy was playing with it.

In a word ( I refuse to use incredible) it was great. Fastest phone ever. So EVO fans we are in for a treat. I am more excited than ever now. The screen was very crisp and clear so all of the concern about it is pointless IMO. Let me say I am not a real Techie ?? guy. Pinch to zoom. Great! Speed Great! Browser Great! Build of phone Great! and most of all I was expecting something along the lines of my wifes hero. Nope. Brand new ballgame. Now keep in mind that I am a EVO fan so I am only this excited about this phone because ours is so much more. Come on JUNE!!!!!!

Again. Before I get Blazed. I am excited about this phone because spec wise it is close to our phone and is by the same maker so it gives me an idea of how great our EVO will be. And i just noticed that there has been some discussion about the incred today. This is unrelated.

No worry, Jackson. I like the guy and hope he continues to be nice. If not, he will be dealt with. I really hope all of us continue to get along, because we've been like a big happy family here (including ajac) and that's the way I would like to see it continue.

Thanks, zaaye. The Incredible does have AMOLED, I think, and it's tall and skinny, whereas the EVO is a lot wider. I'm glad you enjoyed the experience, because the EVO is going to be so much better.

Yeah, that would be good. Anything regarding that other phone should probably go into a different thread. I would like this to continue to be the EVO 4G thread and for the most part everyone has been doing a good job of that.

I'll give you props though. It seems like the Google you use could get information from April 26th, before the 24th. Like I've stated before, there were certain things you've stated that was incorrect, but the majority was good info. You know the kind of people I hate? A know-it-all. The EVO doesn't come out in May 21st. My Sprint connect told me the 22nd. So I'm going to spread rumors that you Google everything, yet state that I got a so-called connect that told me such and such. Is this what they call irony?

Ajac vs Jackson aside, one thing I do agree with Ajac. Why would Best Buy sell Sprint's flagship device before Sprint? Not just a day or two, but a full week? This is not going to happen. If the EVO drops on June 13th, Best Buy Reward Zone Members who pre-ordered the device, might be able to purchase it on Friday. Best Buy is only helping the cause, but this is Sprint's baby.

As for when the device is dropping, I've already explained it full detail. What I will say is this, late May is a slight possibility for the simple fact that the hardware detail is over. Software detail is a work in progress, but it won't take forever to complete. From what I know, June it is. The only reason I've joined this forum, was because of this section. It's amazing how friendly and cool people are, and just humble over everything. People don't let me become a lurker again, because people rather embrace negativity, than peace.

I'm not trying to be unreasonable and I'm not saying you can't talk about another phone, especially with the way it relates to the EVO. I'm just saying this is the EVO thread and that is what we should concentrate on. I was having some fun playing devil's advocate today and most people didn't seem to appreciate it, but it was fun for me.

I guess I'm trying to say yes, this is the EVO thread, but there's nothing wrong with having some fun with it while we wait for our phone.

The people who think the Evo is a beefier Incredible are flat out wrong. The Incredible is the HTC Desire (which to this point is Europe only) that was slightly retooled with a bigger camera and slightly bigger memory. The Evo if anything is more closely tied to the HD2, but even then that's more because of screen size than anything else. From what I've read though the Evo/Supersonic has been in the works since 2008, so its not as easy as just slapping the HD'2 screen into an Incredible like some people are insinuating.

I disagree. We all know what the Desire is. I think the facts speak for themselves, however.

The differences are these:

-Evo has a larger screen size and different screen type.
-Evo has front-facing camera.
-Evo has 4G.
-Evo has twice the ROM, and slightly less RAM.

Comparatively, there really aren't many differences between the two devices. They use the same 8MP camera, the same processor, and--most importantly--the exact same operating system with the exact same skin.

Aside from the 4G, these differences are pretty superficial. The fact that they are superficial does not mean that the Evo is not a better phone than the Incredible--it clearly is. Nobody is trying to insult the Evo by saying that it's nearly the same as the Incredible. Regardless, it's true--and especially in the context in which it was used.

We were saying (or at least I was) that the testing should be roughly done on the Evo because it's nearly the same as the Incredible--the only real testing that should need to be done is with 4G. The display? No, displays are pretty simple, and they've already used a similar one on the HD2. The front-facing camera? No, cameras don't require too much playing. The RAM/ROM? Not really an issue. Most of the differences between these two phones are--especially from a testing perspective--insignificant.

The main testing grounds for this phone are the OS/skin and 4G, and one of them is already taken care of, because there's another phone which is just about to be released that runs the same exact software.

If 4G is ironed out, the phone should be ready.
