Fed Ex lost my HTC Incredible

So, Fed Ex website said delivered package to my house today. But, it was signed by someone not my wife who was at home at the time. About an hour ago, the Fed Ex driver comes to my door and admits to delivering it to the wrong address. The resident at the other address says the babysitter must have signed for it this morning and she didn't leave the package there. The Fed Ex driver is supposed to go back in the morning to see if the babysitter brings the phone back.

So, here's my dilemma. If by some chance Fed Ex can't retrieve the package in the morning, should I wait another month for another HTC Incredible or should I get a different one that may be in stock now? I've already waited a month for this one and hate to think about having to wait for another month.

first you need to move, you obviously live at the wrong address :D

Hopefully, it won't take long for FEDEX to get the device back or return to the shipper that it is "lost". Unfortunately, that may take some time to get figured out.

Once they get it settled, I would think the Seller might be able to expedite the replacement, since their shipper lost the first one.

Good luck either way.

i love how the delivery services will give the package to anybody near you just so they don't have to try again..

"oh hey! homeless person, will you sign for this and give it to them when they get home..? you will? promise!? ok great! here's $600 in merchandise!"

at least he admitted to messing up....

Well, I called Verizon and they said I'd have to wait for a back-ordered phone again. That's why I'm so bummed out right now. Tomorrow's another day and maybe Fed Ex will have some good news for me.

Oh dude, that sucks. Can't your neighbor just call the babysitter and ask her what she did with the package she signed for? Why the hell would she take it home with her, anyway? Fed Ex has her signature on file as well as her name, so they know who signed for it. There is no denying it at that point.

As for your other question... I would personally wait on another DINC. But I also don't care for the X and I would rather wait another 30 days for a phone I want than get something now that I don't like.

So I guess you just have to ask yourself, "will I be happy with the _____ phone if I get that instead?".

This is very true, unless the babysitter is stealing it, which would be crazy after she signed for it, 1 phone call should solve the problem

That's the crazy part. I don't know those people and they told the Fed Ex driver they would "try" to call the babysitter. Doesn't sound like they are very willing to help resolve this issue. BUT, if this is a sitter that goes there everyday, then she will be home when the driver goes back in the morning. I'm going to call Fed Ex again and ask them to deliver it to my workplace if they retrieve it.

I probably will wait for another DINC because I will always wonder "what if".

Well just have to wait and see what happens. That was stupid of the babysitter to keep the phone knowing it was delivered to wrong address along with her signature on the paper. Hopefully the babysitter is not trying to steal it.:(

I would go back round and talk to the neighbor tbh, and tell them they their baby sitter signed for a 600$ package that wasn't in the people who lives there name... and you want them to call her and talk to her, or give you her number so you can...

Seems dodgey, I wouldn't leave my children with anyone I couldn't contact instantly...

So, I took everyone's (and my wife's advice) and walked down the street to the address the package was delivered. There was a car parked in front and I knocked on the door. No response. I knocked louder and heard a male voice inside, but it wasn't directed towards me. It was more like "someone at the door". No one came to the door. I came back home. It's obvious to me they think they have a free phone. I'm going to call Fed Ex in the morning and tell them to get my phone back. If they can't then I'm going to tell Verizon to send me a phone pronto. I don't care if they have to recall a package that already went out. I want my phone.

Heck ya! Don't give up. Someone obviously stole your phone. Contact fedex, verizon, etc. and if that doesn't work then I would call the police. I seriously doubt it will come to that but something is definitely fishy here.

Good luck and be safe!

I'm surprised you left! No way I could have. If I heard them talking, I wouldn't have left until they responded.

Little do they know that the phone is going to be a paper weight pretty soon.

Did you get the driver's name, number, Fedex ID, or anything?

I wouldn't consider the phone "lost" if the FedEx driver knows where it was delivered, but isn't there something in the law about it being a crime about taking mail/packages that don't belong to you? Seems to me like you could do something about it and get some help from police or something. I would be P.O'd if I went there and they didn't open the door when I knew they were home for sure.

I called the police and they said it's not theft because I never had possession of it. If anything Fed Ex would have to file a claim.

As far as trying to escalate the situation, I'm not much for confrontation unless I know who I'm dealing with. I have no idea who lives at that address or if they're crazy or not. I have the Fed Ex info. I'll call again in the morning. This situation is so bizarre.

Wow might be time to get a higher cause involved... I would defo speak to Fed Ex again, and try and go back around, but don't leave without speaking to them... if they ignore you again, i would think about contacting verizon again...

But thats bs , sorry man

It's true its not theft, but tbh the police should be able to at least come out and get them to answer the door so you and them can chat o_O

Weird

Dude if my neighbors had signed for my dinc I would be camped out in their front yard.I'm almost at the end of my wait-7/19 but I wouldn't wait another month.I would be probably just as happy with a droid x.

My buddy in San Diego wanted 2 Dinc's one for him and his wife.He threatened to close his accounts and go with AT&T. Verizon called him the next day to come down and pick up his 2 new Incredibles.
I've seen some people get replacement Dinc's in a matter of a few days.
