Be honest - it's shite !

I've had my x10 since a month after the Canadian launch I have a love hate relation with it mostly due to it being on 1.6 OS (not really a big deal) but other then that I don't have the low in call issue when I drive with it I have my BT on if I'm outside talking still able to hear people clearly.

MT isn't an issue with me I don't play games on it if I do play games, the only one I play is doodle jump which you don't need MT for it.

I don't use the Sony UI (switched to ADW) and use SystemPanel for the annoying processes.

I use Swype for my keyboard since the SE soft keyboard sucked.

It's not the best Android on the markey but I wouldn't say it's a shit phone.

Thanks ECBOMB :)

yeah i do switch phones quite a bit lolzzz
I did say my Droid X was going to be my phone for the end of the year but idkk lolzz

1)Well i am glad to hear the camera is really good :)
My question is this:When uploading pictures to facebook, is there a timescape app when you hit share?

I know on my Sense devices you can upload thru Facebook For Htc Sense and my X is just said Uploaded by Droid

Does the Xperia have it's on unique saying?

2)that's good that updating status is easy as well.

Again, when you date via timescape...does it say that as well...lol it's silly but i kind of like how it has that haha

3)Call quality....Ehhhh it's not a deal breaker unless they truly can't hear me

4)I live in America and it's now on At & t...I heard that you can't sideload applications so would i be able to still download the app for the keyboard?

5)Omg, yes i am in love with the blue :) It is beautiful and my favorite color and i especially love the look off it in the contacts. GORGEOUS UI!

My pleasure to help! Okay, now for your other questions:

1)When uploading pics to facebook, all you have to do is go into mediascape (which is basically your media content browser), look at a picture and click on the menu button and it'll give you the option to upload it there. Once you push "Upload to Facebook", it'll automatically upload it there and on the notification bar at the top it'll tell you the status of the upload. Once it's done, it says something like "Upload Completed" or "Upload Successful". No need to create a folder on Facebook either, because the pics uploaded are automatically stored in a photo album named "Mobile Uploads".

2) For updating the status, there's a mini wheel beside your status that will spin around when it's updating, and once it's updated, I think the wheel just disappears, and doesn't actually indicate it with words lol. Another side note is that Timescape takes awhile to update all your Facebook, Twitter info because there's a lot of data downloaded, so keep that in mind.

3) Ya they should be able to hear you okay. Bluetooth headsets should help, but speaker phone is where it goes really bad, so try and avoid using that.

4) Well you should be able to, because mine is Rogers branded here in Canada and besides just downloading apps through the Market, there's an option in Settings to "Install from unknown sources" which are 3rd party apps (APK files they're called) onto the phone. It shouldn't matter if you're with a carrier or have an unbranded phone, just the way Android phones roll ;)

5) If you're in love with the blue, then you'll for sure love the phone's UI!

Dont get me wrong, i'm gutted that i'm having issues with it because it does blow the iphone away on a few points, camera being the main one. I know what you're saying in that i might have been seduced by the iphone, i suppose to a certain degree i have, but i do get bored pretty quick with phones and like something new and shiny every now and again. I tried the X10 expecting it be great and it isn't (lets be honest) i could mention Timescape and all the other stuff but its been done before, no doubt i might try the gen 2 if there ever is one? or the Galaxy S is looking good, but this Market issue i've got i never had with iTunes.

I've tried at least five phones in the past 12 months, iphone 3g, 3gs, HTC HD2, X10 and HTC Wildfire, none i'm afraid match up to the 3gs, and i hate to think i'm being drawn in by the marketing but Apple still do have the edge IMHO.

The UI on the X10 is very easy to use i agree, but why is it such a drama to make a call? and before you say download an app to make it easier, should i have to?

I get what you're saying. And I have to agree that it's a hassle to call someone, but then again I just have them as direct dial links on my desktop. I guess you really like the Android OS but just that SE did a poor job of implementing their own software into the OS. Could've been a perfect match, but dumbasses seem to be running SE these last few years lol

My friend, you've hit the nail squarely on the head.

BTW how do you manage to get them as dial links on your desktop?

it is shit i wish i could get a phone that has 2.1 at least. I know "this is cool and that is awesome and 8.1 mp cam"....all bullshit and i really regret getting this phone. no multi touch...i was a newbie. games kind of suck when you can only have one digit on the screen. the cam quality is crap...dont know if it s the lens or software. yes it serves its purpose but if it only serves its purpose as a phone cam then it is not a selling point. have had it for a few months now and i m frustrated. Cannot get rid of it because my friends are all apple fan boys.....and i dont want to hear negative about android...but it is sonys fault. F them for giving me a bad experience into the world of smart phones 29 months and counting until i can actually get a phone that does 2.1....although in 29 months we may have Eclair. Oh then we ll be talking smack while everone else is on android "Zingers" here is a link

When will the pain stop.

Folks AT&T has cut off Sideloading Apps! So you can not load in APK files. AT&T really makes it hard and if you have to root the phone to get it to work out of the box, than whats the sense. Plus rooting will void your warranty. if memory serves me right. So yeah, buy an expensive phone, can't side load apps, so we root the phone to get the apps that it should have had from the jump and now we have voided our warranty 2 days into ownership. Some smells a foul here!

Okay, I just re-read my own message and I wrote it wrong, but not sure how you took my message. I meant that I set up dial links on my HOMESCREEN (not desktop, sorry for the confusion). If you understood me and took it that I was referring to the HOMESCREEN to begin with, then you're a smart man! And the process is quite simple on setting up 1 click dials to any contact.

1) Long press on any part of the homescreen that does NOT have a shortcut or widget in place

2) Tap "Shortcuts"

3) Tap "Direct Dial"

4) Select the contact number (and if you have say 2 numbers for a contact, you will need to have 2 icons on your screen, eg: 1 for home and 1 for cell)

...AND you're done! Now you can just click on that icon on your homescreen for one click dialling. Much better than going through the phonebook and clicking like 3-4 times. I guess that's the way SE/Android does speed dial.

Wow, you serious about cutting off the 3rd party apps...? That just...totally defeats the purpose of owning an Android!!! In that case, you're better off just getting an iPhone...I guess we don't have it that bad up here in Canada...lol

I thought you meant homescreen, but then thought if he does mean desktop then thats a REALLY good trick :)
Thanks for that, with all the playing about i've done with the phone i should have known that....and when you use it theres no ridiculous forced locking of the phone after the call.

I take that back, it didn't lock the first time i used it but it is doing now?

Other than the lack of a modern OS version (which is a software issue that can and will be rectified), my only real issue with my X10 is that on odd occasions an incoming call will present a blank screen rather than a proper answer screen.

I'm running the 026 firmware which addressed speed and battery issues quite nicely, and I removed all the SE apps that I never used anyways.

i regret buying this piece of shit weekly. i bought it based on reviews i read in a magazine and jumped the gun so to speak. its slow, terribly slow. the processor is supposed to be almost twice as fast an an i phone, yeah ok, my brothers 3 year old i phone works 100 times faster. his slide unlock works flawlessly every time, you flip his phone sideways and it changes the screen right away, doesnt get hung up like this piece of shit does and doesnt get hung up trying to go back. you open up his media player, guess what, it opens right away, this thing, sometimes open, sometimes get stuck with the background but no content. its slow, did i mention how slow it is to do everything? the battery life is complete shit and i have to worry about leaving things open in the background because god forbid i dont close them and they eat the ****en battery. the only upside to this phone is that ive had to yank the battery once since buying it a couple months ago and thats because the screen wouldnt turn on. where as my bb bold 9700 a battery pull and a crash were daily occurrences. i wanted the phone for its large screen, it has a large screen, but its shit, it occasionally lags a video i try to play, the pre loaded ringers are complete shit, the fact i need to download an app for every thing i want to do is shit, its pre loaded with crap. and now some of my pre loaded apps arent working, main one being the trackid app. i try to load it, it says, sorry, track id has stopped unexpectedly, please try again. i have, 100 ****en times, says the same shit every time. you know what the phone is doing right now, sitting on my charger, its noon and the battery is 35% dead already and ive sent 6 text messages. i have an app killer, i have juice defender, its better than it was originally, but its far from great. i cant wait to see what a piece of shit this battery will be in a year.

this phone has potential, but it was released pre maturly. the video i saw of this phone was a demo phone and it was laggy and se claimed the released version would be faster. like ****, its still a laggy piece of shit. i wouldnt throw this phone at my dog when he pisses me off thats how much i hate it. oh and lets not forget that you sometimes have to click the middle button 50 times for it to get out of an app or out of the browser. its got the latest firmware on it, if i had the money for an i phone id buy that, or a better android phone. even my buddy who has the same phone thinks its a piece of shit.
i salute you. i dont know why so many always defend their phone..is it our inherent fear of being judged badly for making such a poor decision. we want to feel smart?
i got this two weeks ago and am trying everything i possibly can to avoid being stuck with this lemon for the 36 mth contract i just started.
I have experienced all you stated and many more...you likely have had more problems too...you just get tired typing them out....navigation konks out.....forced closes....a term i had never heard of..i swear...til researching my various problems on x10
no joke...this forum is where i learned the term forced close....as my unit does it when checking weather, email...google maps...heck..that is when the laggy open swipe lets me even get in..or i am not stuck in camera mode like i was one day..unable to exit it...no matter what i hit.
shite or shit..your pref..is right.
no brand new model should be so laggy, bug prone, slow despite its fast processor...but real life speed is the one to judge by. not specs. i hate it. i want to smash it to bits frankly.

Wow. Mine is pretty quick, has the odd hang up and my biggest issue is the market "starting download" but getting stuck in that state.

Everything else works great. I get the odd forced close when I play around with free apps, but most of them are lame/non-essential so I trash them.

It's a good phone with good hardware and the latest firmware gives it some of the best smartphone battery life there is. Now, it just needs 2.1 then hopefully 2.2 will follow shortly as rumored.

It seams as if the branded phones have a lot more problems than the unbranded ones. Mine is unbranded and I'm having very few problems.

I can't believe you guys who buy phones with 3 years contract. That is seriously HOLY CRAP!! One year is enough and actually the legal limit where I live. :)

Indeed, my X10 is sim unlocked, and don't get me wrong its not perfect (the keyboard sucks, apps i cant uninstall, the odd bit of lag when first switched on), but most of the faults i can either get used to or work around. No phone is perfect, as my sister found out recently with her iphone 4.0 and its (ahem) "reception issues"
