***Official Galaxy Nexus Pre-Release speculation thread**

We know DEV support for the NP will be through the roof. Yet if VZW doesn't release it then i need to know that the Bionic will get some dev love. If not i guess i'll be carrying around this OGDX for a while longer.

Either way it should be an exciting time for all things Android in the next six months.

My experience and observations have always been that HTC gets the most dev support aside from any Nexus. So if you really want dev support, IMHO, go Rezound.

I'm waiting for the inevitable disappointment of 12/9 with my longtime friend Cabo Wabo...hopefully I'll make it through the night. Can't wait to work from 8 pm friday til noon saturday.

At least I'll be closer to the still unconfirmed "newer date"

That is a serious shift pull right there. Diggin your positivity!

Love your enthusiasm, but nope...this was happening this morning. And another member pointed out that you can type anything in the url to replace "Samsung Nexus" and the page that comes up is a blank white page with the same title in the Title Bar.

For instance, go here. http://shop.verizonwireless.com/?id=Poop Salad

Now, I ain't buying no poop salad from Verizon. :D

It's possible that they were testing out re-directs and the page you posted will eventually hold a redirect to the "Place Order" page, but every syntax you throw into that URL returns the same results. No news on this front...

Dang, Y U RUIN FUN?
Nah, I'm kidding, but I must say it's really funny to see the title of the page as "Poop Salad, Smartphones..." with a Verizon logo next to it... XD

Wait, wait did the CSR really just say this? I SWEAR this is not edited!

Kristopher: No, I don't. But I have had people telling me for the last 10 days that employees in stores had told them it was tomorrow....
Kristopher: every tomorrow since last tuesday.
Matt: Lol I have been hearing the same thing :( I keep getting let down! I just want this phone!
Kristopher: It's so funny about 11:30 every nite the site spikes by about 10k more, as if they are gathering to see if the white smoke is released announcing the election of Pope Galaxy of the Nexus.
Matt: Lmao oh my god that is Hilarious!

I talked with that exact CSR yesterday and he said somthing similar I printed the transcript out.

No sir. Physically type in www.verizonwireless.com/poopsalad

You get the generic "Page Requested not Found" message for anything other than a VZW smartphone. Also, using any other device's name redirects to a Flash heavy preview/buy now area. For instance try www.verizonwireless.com/droidrazr.

This is something. Lends no credibility to tomorrow in anyway, but it is a definite sign that wheels are beginning to turn.

DUDE I got Kristopher once too and he said the same sort of thing!
He told me that "at night it's like Times Square, we all come and ask and wait, every night since last Tuesday" he said.

Welp, It's 2:22 am and I'm all caught up... Gnite! :)

Oh yeah, one more thing. Stop reporting worthless CSR convos. I think I'm going to ask mods just to delete them. They take up line worker's time, unnecessarily, and they don't add anything to this thread. It's comedy at some person's expense. Now, if you have real news, post it. Otherwise, I'm asking mods to delete and perhaps infract, if serious enough.

Gnite! :)

haha...yeah. I was really hoping to have the SGN before my shift but it's not looking likely.

Honestly, when I work 11-12 hour shifts a day, the occasional overnighter of 16 hours can be a relief...meaning I'm off for a predetermined time before and after the shift.

That isn't the significant part. What's significant is that the redirect from vzw.com/galaxynexus has changed to a page that is apparently blank. I agree: most likely this was automatic, and predates the launch change. But we can still hope...

It's possible, but...

The Nexus appeared in the "Compatible Devices" list while browsing for accessories a long time ago. Mid November maybe. Little changes to the website don't really mean anything anymore in terms of "it could be coming soon". The only change that will mean anything is when the device order page goes up on either shop.verizonwireless.com or the Iconic page at preorder.verizonwireless.com/iconic.

Not trying to piss in anyones Chocolate Lucky Charms or anything, but at this point it doesn't do much good to speculate as to when the go-ahead light will be given for launch. One thing is for certain...all of those dates in the past (November 10th, 17th, week of the 21st, etc.) were all either outright false or just very old dates. Verizon just shipped the phones to the stores this week.

That being said, we are closer right now than we ever were. People will say I'm wrong and will argue and whine and say that "Verizon has this phone endlessly delayed", but in my opinion, the 9th was the real release date this entire time. It has been delayed. The good news is, the delay won't be long. For whatever reason, whether it be the 4G authentication issues, the network being down, the OTA not being ready, or something else, Verizon is simply not prepared to launch today.

Now we know the phone is in stores, people have been prepped, and whenever Verizon is ready they can immediately do a full-on launch in a matter of an hour or so. It could happen tomorrow at 12 pm. It could happen sometime during the weekend. It could happen next Thursday or Friday. And when the Nexus was announced it might have been fun to speculate or look for rumors, but right now it is kind of pointless. I don't think anybody knows when they will give the green light, not even Verizon themselves. And it's not as simple as "their website changed" or "the current sale ends on 12th" anymore. There's no schedule for release anymore.

When they can release, they will release. And there will be much rejoicing. But until then, sitting tight and knowing that it has to be sooner rather than later will have to be good enough. :)

I agree that this does have some significance. However, I tend to agree that it is more likely that the redirect-switch was set up a while ago when the launch was still set for tomorrow, and the shop.vzw.com page (the new target) was supposed to already exist by now. It definitely means something... but probably just that the Gnex was supposed to launch today, and some site dev forgot to change a script.

Oh yea u got me beat lol. That thing sounds like a rocket. Im pushing 478hp at the wheels...might be time for some bigger turbos

Weird to think 478rwhp wouldn't be enough to get the job done, whatever that job might be. I guess there's always nitrous, if you can keep the pistons from exiting through the hood.

But Rezound doesn't even have S-Off yet and it's unclear whether there are even devs committed to it who won't jump ship the minute Nexus ships.

Check my post up top. It is a significant change, they would not hold a page for, what will be, a gigantic Flash page like that without some idea of it coming out soon. A page like the one displayed for the RAZR on there takes some serious work.

Don't get me wrong, I guarantee we won't see the phone until next week sometime, but this change is far more significant than finding the phone's ID number listed on a few accessories.

Agreed. I'm still counting on the 15th at the earliest.

OT:

[Hide]To run with the big dogs in Houston/DFW, you need to be running 1000hp+ pretty much. When you have Mustangs coming out with 650hp right off the showroom floor (2013 GT500), you know it's become a hotrodders heaven.[/Hide]

Hi guys figure I'd chime in without interrupting too much lol... I been following this phone launch and this forum for a few weeks. Here's the twist... I'm an iphone user on ATT. This phone is so compelling I'm staying up hours every night to scan updates and paying my early contract fee to leave ATT and get this phone the day it comes out. This is from a guy who has been with ATT for 9 years with unlimited data grandfathered, and only used iphone for 3 years... This phone IS A BIG DEAL!
