Root Help going back to GB from ICS

Okay so I'm currently running Blend ics rom, and want to go back to Blazer Rom. Qbking said its a bad idea using ICS recovery. What should I do? And idk how to work Odin ):

its a bad idea using ics cwm to flash roms with but its perfectly fine to restore a nandroid with or to flash kernels with . you could use your current cwm recovery to flash a different kernel. i would suggest, if going this route, using the el26 with stock cwm. and also using odin is pretty easy. if you want help with that i can easily walk you through it. just remember, if you are going to play around with rooting on this phone you should become friends with odin any questions just let me know.

Did u back up the Rom or do a Nandroid Backup in CWM ???
If so just go to CWM/Backup and Restore/Restore/Find the Rom in your Backup Directory /Click on it/Hit Yes to Restore/Itll Restore/Then hit Reboot System/...Youre done...

The safer way is to Flash EL26 Kernel ...Use the CWM Package there and do the same thing...Ive done the above process a lot of times to get a GPS Lock before FC18 came along...Never had a problem since...
But its up to you which way you want to do it...The second method is safer...

This is the safest way to do it: xda-developers - View Single Post - [ODIN][TAR] SPH-D710.EL29_CL852097 (EL29 Modem/Kernel/ROM - Full Restore - Rooted)

Follow those directions using Odin and then you will be back to a stock rooted GB ROM. Then you can safely flash a new ROM without worrying about a brick

If this is a GB Rom ???...Correct ???...If it is...GB Rom to GB Rom you can use that recovery...If you do an ICS Rom and switch back to a GB Rom they would like that you use the EL26 with CWM...Thats the safe way between ICS and GB...

With ICS Roms the Kernels that come with the Rom are repacked with current CWM Recovery ...which is alright to use when changing from an ICS Rom to another ICS Rom...

You can also interchange Modems between ICS and GB as well...That is safe...

Your phone is rooted correct ???
Well you had to use Odin to Root your phone and then install CWM... ???
So you have used Odin Before ??? Correct ???

If you don't want to use Odin thru PC...purchase Mobile Odin on the Market ...(Play Store)...

Did you backup the Blazer Rom...???

i'm running the second one which is the Blendz ICS rom FD05. And Ive used odin before when I rooted my phone. I just dont know how to install el26 cwm

OK ...now were on the same page...

...If you have Odin still on your Desktop...You have to open it up and Place the tar file (which is the kernel )...To do this Check the box in front of the PDA Box...Then click on the PDA Box and place the tar file in the box when and where it tells you to...

Then power off your phone and Hold Vol Down and Power Button together till phone goes into Odin Mode...Then hit the Vol up button and Plug it into PC with USB Cable...Odin will Recognize phone ...you will see Box in yellow with Comm and #... Make sure only Auto Reboot and PDA is checked...Once you see that hit the start button in Oden ...It will flash the tar file which is the kernel and reboot phone...When it s done it will reboot to start screen...Unplug USB your done Now you'll have the EL26 Kernel with CWM...

Now you can flash back to Blazer if you backed it up...

Hopefully you Nandroided or Backed up the Blazer Rom...If not the Zip file for that Rom should be on the SD Card and you should be able to see it in CWM and then you can Reflash and start from scratch...Always remember to back it up...Then you can just Restore and everything will be the way it was when you loaded it and set it up ...

yeah Ive made like 2 backups a while ago (Blazer rom and Calk) lol and thanks for the help, Really appreciate it. I will do it later when I get home!
