Root Problems flashing my .sbf file with RSD

im trying to go from 2.1 back to 2.0.1 to root but...

When i go into bootloader mode, the screen doesnt change from "bootloader 2.2C....." to anything. and the flashing always fails at 100% and nothing is changed when i restart my phone. need help please

I just rooted Friday, so I'm no expert by any means ... but have you followed all of the directions in this link:

Also, I imagine one of the things that might be happening is your phone isn't connecting to the computer. Is the RSD Lite software showing anything? Did you install the drivers for your phone?

Yah I'm gonna retry installing drivers but it recognizes my phone on the computer and in rsd

I am having a problem reverting back to 2.01 as well. I have followed the instructions as well but when I pick the file in RSD it show in the box by the ... button but the start button is not available, just stays grayed out. Any ideas?

You need to run RSD Lite as an administrator. However, you cannot right-click on the RSD Lite shortcut in the start menu. I run Vista, and I had to go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Motorola\RSD Lite\ and right-click on SDL.exe and select "Run as Administrator".

I also had to enable UAC, but you may not have to. Go to Control Panel, User Accounts, then enable UAC from there. You will have to reboot the computer. Then you can perform the above step.

I don't use vista but if you do you have to run as administrator, I use xp with 32 bit, but ill try running rsd from the program files. And if that doesn't work I want to try it on my windows 7 computer, but I haven't seen any programs for windows 7

From what I remember you shouldn't have to run as administrator if you are using XP. I am pretty sure that you have to if using vista or 7.

yah i know that . so i am giving up on my xp computer and i just wanted to know if the files are compatible with windows 7 and not only vista/xp

I've had success shift+right clicking the shortcut to run as administrator in 7. I believe the same applies to Vista (it works on my work machine).
