Sammyz closed the bounty thread but apparently the donations have been next to none... Now that everyone has gotten what they wanted and been able to play around a bit let's show our true appreciation. Even if it's just a couple of bucks, each of us have to do something or we're not gonna get this kind of love shown again. I'll be discussing with the wifey how much I'm allowed to donate when I get home from work... Here's the link again...

I really want to donate but I spent so much money on home fix (trying to list house this week)... I did backyard work and small fixture install all myself but still big impact on my wallet due to granite install, painting etc..

Once I sell house and get (+) money flow, I will donate some.

I'm pretty sure we can do better than that. Bliss deserves a lot more than we credit him for.

yes thats correct, they had a bounty of 800 setup idk how many have paid their pledges, but when i spoke to bliss this morning all donations regarding this lg version of loki have totaled to $210, and that includes the 100 that sammyz chipped in.

so that means 110 bucks was what he got donated to him from 3 devices that he made real recoveries possible, and overclocking with custom kernels. as well as allowing cm to grow because now they can actually use a custom cm kernel. if you dont want to donate thats fine, a donation is a token of your appreciation, its not required.

There was a news cover of a news reporter dressing up and acting like a homeless guy, he made a few hundred dollars in a day, tax free of course, he did return every penny though because it was fraudulent.

That's the thing with Xdadevelopers, the people always seem to forget about the person that made it all happen. They think oh I'll just fart, and poof out comes a ROM. I'm not speaking for the majority of xdaer's, but even when I started a bounty for the a500 no one wanted to support a gpl compliant ROM That was fully working Aside from certain devs. They would rather use someone else's Kernel that wasn't gpl compliant that was banned and try and use the ROM they created. I won't say the name. It was a big argument, and in the end, Acer released the ROM before a dev could. There was another developer that came close, but later after further inspection of the source code it was found to be using the person I don't speak of source code, and kernel. So in the end its a very touchy subject. I like af way better. They stick up for devs, and it's just a better community.

I think it's up to $110 I'm not sure though. Dan will be getting a donation from me just because he is a good person. I mean look at where half of his donations go. To charity. So lets get this straight? He spends his time working on stuff for people to have custom kernels, and almost unlocked devices yet people offer a bounty, and it's not a unlocked bootloader, but just as good , and he gets crap? It's just as good to me. If we are going to be mad at anyone it should be lg! They locked their Bootloader down, and he saved us? And we are mad at him? Ha ha. You are the man bliss!

friday morning he had received 210 bucks in total, 100 of that was from sammyz. where we sit now idk i was planning on showing him the thank you thread and asking how much he received tomorrow in hopes that some last min thanks get tossed his way by some newer motion/spirit people. i posted on every forum of all the phones we have worked with him on asking for him to be thanked.

you wanan see some real sad stuff go read about the droid 4 root, he held a bounty, once people had chipped in 200 bucks to him he would release the root, he had an upgrade on verizon and teh droid 4 fit what he wanted so he figured the d4 community could pay for his upgrade for ione and in exchange he would root it. the backlash was massive, he said **** it raised it to 500 and said it was all going to the red cross, and released the exploit. sure enough it hit 500 for donations after he rooted it (it also happened to root just about every moto phone out atm).

you see for most of teh android community its not enough that they get something cool/good for free, it has to be how they wanted it to be otherwise its absolutely worthless to them.

I'm still just trying to figure out how much I can do..going to save the sad story because everyone has one, but my bills are manageable. It's just a matter of fitting it in which I can't do that quickly but surely I understand the skill and work that goes into releasing any of this kind of software. Probably mid-August I can get something something his way, It's not the fastest nor best offer on the planet but I can assure you something will happen at a later point. Thanks bliss for your work and showing some love in the meantime.

Wow I get a new phone and bam a way around the boot loader smh that is just my luck but I have a few dollars I can throw his way even though I will never use this on my nexus 4. Thanks Bliss I know that this has made a lot of people very happy and excited and has opened up a while new world of development for these guys.

As I said before, I did nothing but put up a bounty (as Shabby advised me to) and tested loki. Bliss deserves way more credit (especially since the people who have the great amazing devices just seem to backlash at bliss and don't thank him for nothing, but use his work anyways.)

Yes I have an account on xda, I will be standing up for bliss on xda shortly. No dev deserves to be treated like this....he's not even making money from it, it's going to charity.

Bliss has better things to do than work on devices he doesn't even own. He works on finding security flaws, glitches, etc. for any kind of software. He finds it in Apple, Microsoft, Linux, Google Chrome, VLC, Openoffice, VMWare, and many others. I named what I found on this page: Security Research by Dan Rosenberg

Who knows what else he's found since. You could be for all we know, using software that has updates because of flaws bliss found. Thanks again Dan!
