When you are impatiently waiting for your shiny new phone that was supposed to be delivered yesterday but FedEx messed up and now it's not coming until Monday because they don't deliver on Saturday but a freakin' FedEx truck just went whizzing past your house and didn't stop
I feel for ya Clem. I once had a new phone set in a delivery truck over the 4th of July holiday.
All that free time to play with the new phone... and nope. Grrrrrr
How often what i need to make something work is then only sold at a single place, and always marked up to hell.
Most recent example is how i had an old OEM PC go south, so harvesting what i could save leaves me with an Opteron 185 and RAM i don't have a place for. So i need a socket 939 for a quick and dirty rebuild, or if I'm spending any significant money, something newer and hopefully more reliable. Kind of leaning toward the latter, because i need an ide port for console repairs, but when not doing that, i intend to use the system to handle encoding capture streaming from consoles.
But can't find anything at all outside of eBay. And eBay has already royally screwed up my latest order... So bad, that they actively censored my negative review pro actively. "buy from a trusted seller" ? Yeah, the guy was an asshole, and eBay itself is protecting them from a well deserved, negative feedback.
So, I'm trying to buy a mobile home. Mortgage company says, "you must have 20% for a down-payment before we give you a loan."
Well, 10% is reasonable, but I guess 20% because the mobile home market is volatile or something... fine. I scraped together, over the past couple months, enough to purchase a nice home.
Now, they are saying, "where did you get this money?"

Doesn't matter. By that logic, your clothes are a device. Your keys are a device. Your tongue is a device. But no sane person would classify them as that.
It's just as smarmy and contemptful as marketers that try to rebrand something to suit their agenda. Like wanting a gig to be 1000 instead of 1024.
It's even permeated into Windows, too. "Updating your device" ? Really? It's a damn PC, not a raspberry pi emulating one.
