Root Velocity 3g Unthrottled

70 gigs. That's nothin. I can wipe the numbers off the scale. My lowest was 85gb. But some months I don't even use 2gb. If you think of me having to restore my steam games after an hd crash which is like 250gb. Netflix streaming. Porno. Etc I'm way over. Also when I signed up I had altell which said at the store no matter how much I download. Its all included with the smartpack 500 for 69.99 a month which back then you could get an altell contract for something like 20 30 bux a month. Altell knew where I lived we had no internet access so they pushed their rev a phones harder. I spent good money on changing my contract. Bought an expensive phone and was dling at 2.5mbs. I talked to a verizon rep about it once on the phone. He uses pdanet and dls gigs upon gigs on his droid x. Of course I forgot about only having 500 minutes and I blew that up and spent around 160 in overages and didn't bitch one bit. Don't. Take it the wrong way I don't want verizon customers in cities where high speed is better to rape their download because they may one day kill your contract although I don't see it esp when they are getting around 100 dollars a month in average from each customer

I doubt throttling is done client-side, unless of course, verizon doesn't care about people bypassing it. Doubtful, at best. Verizon is greedy.
If it is so easy to unthrottle, then why does throttling exist anyways? Only people who have rooted are likely to use that much data. And if they are rooted, then it would be so simple to unthrottle, as seen here.

You are exactly right! As I said before, this does NOT work..

Sure, it was implemented on the Droid Incredible, but that certainly doesn't mean it works.

Verizon is throttled at the network switch. Users have NO control over it.

The built in throttling feature was used by TMobile and a few smaller carriers, but then this hack was discovered.. they have since followed in Verizon's footsteps and started throttling at the switch as well.

You really should read the entire thread before flashing things like this. It's a placebo effect. It doesn't work. Also, it was built on velocity 1.0. Not 1.1 or 1.2. I hope you made a nandroid before flashing this, because you might have just broken stuff.
