That would be pretty awesome. In that case, I'm probably going to have to play on the safe side and be patient (sigh) and just wait to root it until there is a facilitated way to unroot the phone.
I really appreciate all the help you guys are giving me and in return, I'd like to offer you any assistance or information I can help provide you with as a MetroPCS employee.
Of course because of the nature of this project (MetroPCS would definitely frown down upon this project lol), I obviously would have to remain 100% ANONYMOUS.
Anything you guys need, just let me know
EDIT: Speaking of, I recall reading in a seperate thread about why you cant use data and LTE at the same time. Well, very soon that will be possible. We are preparing to roll out voLTE in the near future and all phones supporting the technology will be able to talk and use the web simultaneously. To the best of my understanding, the entire CDMA spectrum is going to be converted and used for voLTE.
voLTE=voice over LTEWow! Thats awesome! So does that mean our 4g wont keep disapearing and wont keep switching from 4g to 1x?
voLTE=voice over LTE
oh sookieball make sure you do not let them see this IP in cookies or any thing... hmmm IP bounce.. mask on your phone
what are you talking about?
was attempting i guess a bad joke about him coming to forum on company phone just said wrong user should have been DroidsAtMetro
Hi, I'm havin some issues with the root, some of the apps that require root won't run at all despite having super user permissions in my app drop box. I also downloaded rootchecker and it says ok to busybox but not root. Should I run the root process again?
Thats odd.... wouldnt hurt to run again.
Yea I found it really stramge as well. Should I use the non bloatwae one instead?
rooob:
- what happens to my installed apps if i root or remove the bloatware?
Think of the root script like giving you the master key to the phone, nothing changes as far as your apps or data. The bloatware script asks you which items to remove and if you say no to everything then no apps are uninstalled
- whats the difference between k0nane's and mike's?
K0nanes is the original and all it does it give you the "master key" where as Mike took K0nanes and added in his script to allow you to get rid of the MetroPCS applications (all of which suck)
- what are the chances of screwing my phone if i don't do the root correctly?
Very little chance of something bad happening. If the script fails for some reason you should be able to run it again and everything will be fixed right up.
My best advice to you if you are worried would be to reboot the phone, put it into airplane mode, turn off wifi, make sure the battery is at least 40% and then run the script. While the script runs dont even move the mouse around until its totally finished
First thanks for the reply, really well explained!
i just did the process and everything went perfect, i appreciate all the time you guys have put into this.
