In case anyone else is caught doing this....

open the keyboard and it should unlock. In my case it let me pick from the two app launchers I have right now. Once there it was easy to get out of it.

Nasty for awhile tho...

Seems that there may be an issue with respect to needing to uninstall and reinstall visual voice mail. I restored it from MyBackup Root and found all sorts of nasty stuff in logcat.

Anyone else experience this or were you able to use it without problems after restoring??

Used it without problem. In fact,i just used it about an hour ago.
For what it's worth, I'm on the $50 plan and can't read the messages, just listen to them offline, I.e without dialing voicemail.

thanks for ur help btw, but i turned off the av, ran the run.dat and it worked, the superuser app is installed but so is all of the bloatware, it wasnt deleted, what am i doing wrong now? or is this done manually, if so, how?I downloaded the third post file..then I did the very. First one and still nothing

^^ so back then i used the bloatware removal posted by konane which rooted the phone and installed the superuser app.. then i installed root app remover to remove all the crap..

dont mean to put anyone down but im really not into this phone i thought getting rid of the bloatware would better the battery, but nothing.. so im gonna end up going back to my previous carrier..

that being said,, how do i get the phone back to factory settings / apps/ bloatware as if nothing ever happened to it?

You can use Odin, but make sure you read the instructions fully... and also watch the video thats posted to that thread, it helps. Its pretty simple, just make sure you only check the boxes that it tells you to and no others, hope this helps.

Do you simply want to root it or are you interested in the new Basix ROM? For either GO HERE & follow the instructions.

For root only go HERE for the CWM-All-in-1-root

You should be fine afterwards

DO NOT USE this thread to root your phone.
There is a reason why it is marked outdated.
Support for this root script is now obsolete. If you use it, it'll be at your own risk.
K0nane himself, the script's maintainer, has advised to use the AIO instead. So I urge everyone to do that!
It's more full-featured and stable.

My daughter was playing with my phone and managed to boot it into recovery mode. All she said was while trying to get out of Rec. Mode she ended up clicking on (FORMAT SYSTEM DATA) or something like that. NOW, all i get when booting the phone is the Samsung logo and samsungmobile.com under that and nothing more. I can't do anything at all with the phone right now till i can figure out how to get the software needed to reinstall the system back to my phone.
CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME WITH THIS. I'm stuck using a friends pc so I have to find ALL drivers, software and any other programs needed to get my phone working again.

i have the samsung galaxy indulge 4g sch-r910.i have tried what u said to instal the one click root but the program when initiated states that the phone is not connected. My phone is in usb debugging mode but computer not recognizing it. it recognizes the device only when not in debugging mode. i want to root this phone so i can install wifi tether and make it a wifi hotspot. Please advise?

p.s.i cannot find this samsung pc softimware program that you advised to myrieboy to download from samsung website? whatever he installed it worked for him. pleas help me to get this root software app into my phone. thxs

DO NOT USE this thread to ask for help, you will most likely find NONE. This thread is outdated. (It should've been locked actually, I don't know who unlocked it...)
If you are having problems rooting, try the AIO method first, and if things still don't work out there, post in that thread for help!
