Root What ROM's are people using and why?

Having just rooted for the first time, I'm using LeeDrOid 2.3d and I love it. I found the whole experience fairly straight forward, thanks to the great advice from members such as Eris Ed and SUroot.

After a while I may try another rom., but at present I'm more than happy.

Tried GingerVillain, and will probably migrate to that when it is a bit better. When I tried, I couldn't send mms..

The only thing with badnewz/insert coin is, yes the dev seems to be a prick, and I think he is releasing too many minor updates. I'm still on 1.8c, and I am not even sure if it is worth going to 1.8h..

baadnewz lite + alex diaz's theme = winner.

First rom i flashed was leedroid thanks to dan, then i flashed xmchd wich was awesome some great suttle mods now im using my own build, love it saves me loads more battery than leedroid and its fast so im happy

They're very similar.

In Oxygen, you can have a battery percentage without a reboot...

GV has a bunch of kernels in the setup and I think a few ore options for customisability...

I prefer GV, but not by much.

Ive gone back to Defrost 6.1 not 6.1a.
Was using GV0.9 but the loss of microphone for a couple of seconds was annoying.
So its Defrost for me atm with 2.6.35.8 ManU 1.3 havs axi 128 cfs kernel.
Only pulling 1ma overnight in plane mode. Happy days!

I'm using Oxygen 2.0 and it's fantastic. I tried Cyanogen first, but for some reason, I got stuck in a boot loop. My housemate got it to work on his Desire Z (We were sitting around, watching TV with a couple of drinks and decided to finally root his phone and flash some ROMs, just for the hell of it) but didn't really like the way it looked.

I really like Oxygen. It's fast, it's got the beautiful Gingerbread notification bar, and if I decide, for some reason, to stop using LauncherPro, the stock Gingerbread UI is a far superior backup than the frankly ghastly Sense. I don't know what it is about Sense, I just can't stand it, having seen what else there is on offer.

I'm thinking about flashing MIUI, but I'm not entirely sure I like the default icons... is it simple to change them, does anyone know?

After needing to find out what all the fuss was about I flashed Gingervillain, from a Cyanogen, and it felt like a step backward! Less menu's, less pull down bar options and appart from that it doesn't seem to have been fully re-branded, I don't know whether this is deliberate or not but it makes it look awful.

I'm back on my nightlies!

Guess if I start getting flash-happy I can always start following the nightlies.

Or maybe tweak my HAVS voltage ranges...

The voltages are fun. Been running min 850 for a day. No problems. Going to add to init.d and then manually set to 825.

Not seeing any less draw though. Perhaps its placebo, but it seems the bettery lasts longer

Power = V×I, so same current and lower voltage = less energy. Question is, which is the more fundamental with a battery: stored energy or current capacity? Guess I should find out how voltage adjustment actually works in these devices.

If nothing else, I'm sure it doesn't get as hot as it did with the stock firmware.

Well if you find out, let me know. I don't really understand power consumtion, mA, mAh, mV etc. I know what they mean but not the physics behind it.

Well it doesn't help how my equation got mangled - on my phone it was "P = V x I", but that's not how it looks from my laptop!
