Best case for note 2?

I would prefer not to be merged since I am searching for a case for a woman using a purse. Would you please unmerge my thread? Thanks!

What makes you think there aren't other women who use a purse in this thread? :)

I am having trouble understanding what attributes she wants in a case. Could you or she elaborate? Does she want to protect the phone from scratches, be able to find it easily, have a case that won't attract lint and dust...?

I like using TPU cases from eBay. They're usually under 5 bucks, take about a week to ship to you from HK sometimes. I've had them for every Android phone I've owned. Impact resistance is great- very flexible case while allowing you to maintain a thin profile. If you like a gussied up TPU case, check out Cruzerlite Androidified cases. They're doing a buy 2 get one free on Amazon. Got 1 for me and 2 for the wife and it shipped free :)

Also, for screen protectors, I cannot recommend matte ones enough. They don't absord oils from your hands as easily as the glossy ones which means they last much longer. Those go for a buck or so. I know we have Gorilla Glass but I feel like you can never be safe enough.

To OP, I assume you are carrying your phone naked and just put inside of that zipped case? Don't you worry of dropping N2 when taking it out? To get an idea of some of the cases, you can check out my reviews (sticky in the forum, or link in my sig). As a bare minimum, you should at least get tpu case to enhance the grip of the phone and protect battery cover from scratching. As it was mentioned above, Cruzerlite makes cool tpu cases (I have some coming my way for review soon). If you want something slim and an acceptable drop protection - Case-Mate Tough is the best one. If you want a good drop protection and unique design, UAG is really good.

Since you liked that zippered media bag, I wonder if you might find useful a vertical pouch, like this heavy duty one: Heavy Duty Vertical Pouch for Samsung Galaxy Note 2 N7100 N717 Belt Clip Holster | eBay - it's actually roomy enough to fit Note 2 with either TPU case or even something like Tough/UAG/Commuter. I'm getting this one as well, and will review it in a few days.

As twister said the case mate tough is a great choice!
I got one a few weeks ago (after the great pics and review from twister) and it's a lovely case.

Doesn't add much bulk, feels top quality and even though I'd not want to drop my note 2 if I did the tough case will give it a chance to survive hopefully :D

So you want to get an aluminum knuckle case for your Note 2? lol!!!! j/k :) You gotta love Floss with this animated reviews and intro rant!!! That guy is the best :)

Obviously, you are talking about HunterF case that turns N2 into iPhone 5 like. Can't comment on it much, although I read dozens of posts about it on XDA. In theory it's a solid aluminum box with some padding inside so it should give you some drop protection. But just in my opinion aluminum will get dented if you drop it (it's a soft metal) and you might have a problem with a signal (4G/wifi) since you are encapsulating your phone in a metal shield. You will not loose a signal completely, but maybe a bar or so. Just my opinion, I think it's more for looks, and a damn good one too!

Post your reviews once you get it! Especially how it affects the signal.

I just tracked the package today and i should have it in 2 days. I'll pay my feedback on the signal and fit etc.

Re: Tech21 Flip ..... The site says their cases provide impact protection.
All I can add is no case is perfect no matter what their claims.

Many of us have purchased cases off eBay that are still holding up very well. My sister's $60 Otterbox (not even 6 mos old) now looks like it wouldn't protect a $20 phone let alone one that cost several hundred dollars.

Just purchased my Note 2 today. I got a Tech21 Flip case (black) with the orange D30 strips inside the case. Anyone had any use or know anything about this case? Does it protect well if dropped? I bought it from TMobile when I got the phone but am still not sure if I like it or not.

I heard mixed reviews about Tech21 case. The most common negative feedback of this case being very slippery/no grip. But you do get these D30 strips to absorb the impact if dropped.

So, with the case being so slippery I should be okay if I were to drop it then? I know it's bound to happen.

No one can answer this. If you like the case just get it. Looking for the seal of approval on a forum will constantly leave you undecided because we're all full of opinions.
Many of us have cases of all kinds. I personally have 8 and out of those 8 there's not one that'll stop my phone from breaking if it's meant to break.

There are post around here where the phone slid down the inside of a couch and broke.
See, IMO it's NOT about the case. Phones have broke in Otterbox cases and a lot of people swear by that one.

Buy your case and be happy. Just know that YOU have to share responsibility and not expect that nothing will happen to your phone simply because it's in a case.
