ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - As Blurry or Stock as you'd like. The power is in your hands!

For Droid X users, you must be on system 2.3.340 already. I think it is safe to assume the overwhelming majority of you already are. There are no additional requirements for Droid 2 users.

Many common questions about Apex have answers that can now be found at the official Wiki. Please take a look below, thanks!

Main Page - FabDroid Wiki

Comprehensive guide to the Toolbox will be up in the Wiki within a few days!

Scripts: There are still a few scripts left. They are as follows:

apextoolbox : this launches the Toolbox script
overclock : this launches the overclocking script
sys : this mounts/unmounts system as read/write
updatetb : this updates the toolbox against my server

Installation Instructions: Please have a nandroid of your current setup in case this is not for you :)

Users coming from 1.3.1 may be safe to keep data and cache. If there are problems, then factory reset. - Uninstall updates to Market, Gmail, ADW Launcher, & Search if they're there under Settings->Applications->Manage Applications first.

-Place file on your sdcard. Bootstrap recovery and reboot recovery
-Select Factory Reset (delete data/cache)
-Return to previous menu and install .zip from sd card
-Choose ApeX and install!

QUIRKS

- If you're using another launcher besides ADW, do not use the 'Search' widget. That's for ADW only. It'll get stuck at the top of your screen if you use it on LauncherPro. Use the 'Google Search' widget instead.

- If you add a Yahoo! or Corporate account through the My Accounts app, you will need to use the Toolbox to switch to the Motorola Messaging Suite (MMS & Email)

Well done, Fab! I tested the RC2 today and it ran flawlessly. The battery life was so good, it was shocking! I have to test that out more a it was significantly better than everything I ran before, including the last ApeX, which was also amazing.

I highly recommend this rom and dev to newbies and more experienced users. It is the top of the line of roms, imo.

I also urge users to generously support this developer by contributing to him, supporting his superior work. http://fabdroid.com/beer-fund/

Niiiiice! :)
THIS is what I've been waiting for.
Great timing as well, I just got my replacement X and boy does Stock .340 blowwww.
ApeX 1.4 just made my night.

ApeX 1.4 is extremely stable and Fabolous' toolbox gives you the user, almost complete control over ApeX 1.4!
You decide the level of stock and/or blur.
Battery life is very VERY GOOD!
APEX 1.4 is simply THE BEST!

Go get it Now!
Time 2 get it crackin'!!!

A big thank you goes out to the Devs and Fabolous of course, who all made ApeX 1.4 possible.
Buy FAB a beer!

Can't wait to try this out.

For some reason gallery is showing up as com.cooliris.media.gallery. The app works fine but it just seems weird that it would just say Gallery.

Soon as my replacement X comes tomorrow, this is the first thing I'm gonna throw on it. Then I'll have 1 X with Liberty 1.5 and 1 with Apex 1.4. WHO WANTS SOME SIDE BY SIDE COMPARISONS!

Well regardless I'll probably make a Apex & Liberty thread seeing as how I'll have the golden opportunity. And before anyone asks why I'm getting a replacment and if it'll interfere with the comparisons, worry not! The only reason I'm getting one is cause my camera button doesn't always work.

As for Apex, Can't WAIT to try this out Fab, love your work. I think if someone cracks the bootloader on this phone, Fab, Kejar and Jrummy should create a super ROM. The thought alone gives me the chills =]

First of all thanks,Fab.

I installed the 1.4 rom, and used it a little with no problems.

Then I installed the water mark theme from 1.3, seems to be working good. I did get a couple fc's at first from google process, but it is as smooth as can be rite now.

Thanks again

Great work... its smooth and fast as normal. Looking forward to some new themes for Apex 1.4. I don't like loading old themes over new ROMs.... just seems counter-intuitive.

Another great job Fab! Installed over 1.3.1 and all is well. Only tweaking I needed to do is kill Madden Football (easily done with the toolbox).
