Root [All Carriers][ROM][4.4.4] ViperOneM8 | Android 4.4.4 Sense 6.0 - HTC One M8

I didn't see your last post. No, I didn't update TWRP prior, so I'll be doing that first.

I flashed using old TWRP, and Wi-Fi wouldn't work.
That could be due to a few things, I think twrp version was included, I don't recall.

If it doesn't fix it, see the sticky thread here for the wifi Lollipop fix.

But definitely do the twrp.

While in fastboot, or after reboot, verify the radio version, make sure that the firmware update happened, just to be sure.

Will do.

Definitely a no-go updating TWRP via ROM Manager? I thought I could.

Also, is there a way to save current Viper settings?

I would really not try to update twrp (or anything) with Rom Manager.

Check out "ROM Installer"

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.apps.rom.installer

It's the recommended way to update twrp by an app.

Note - all apps are capable of telling you that it updated twrp when it really didn't.

I used to use an app until I got bitten by that.

Look in Venom Tweaks to save your setup.

fastboot erase cache

Volume up + power for power reset, when screen goes dark, hold volume down to get back to fastboot. Go to hboot, if no recovery, go back to PC, ensure that the image was really correct.

To do that...

The TWRP website is down right now so I can't get you the value to check.

I'll keep checking, try the other parts first.

OK, so I have a bad feeling that maybe something happened at the twrp site.

And where was my head not recommending the Captain's version anyway?

http://themikmik.com/showthread.php...CIAL)-v2-7-0-4&p=299514&viewfull=1#post299514

And from there, you want -

TWRP_Recovery_2.8.5.2_M8_CPTB.img

And the download is at -

https://basketbuild.com/devs/Captain_Throwback/One (M8)/ALL/Recovery

Now - next to the download is a little link for md5 - after you download, and put it in sdk-tools, run this command -

md5sums TWRP_Recovery_2.8.5.2_M8_CPTB.img

And compare to the value from the md5 link - if they're the same, you have a good download. If not, trash the old copies and get it again.

Finally, get to FASTBOOT USB mode and -

fastboot flash recovery TWRP_Recovery_2.8.5.2_M8_CPTB.img

And that ought to do it.

This fixed everything for a guy here I helped on Tuesday.

Take phone to full charge. The PC exe RUU could take a while.

http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_..._NV_SPCS_1.52_003_release_418488_signed_2.exe

Put phone in FASTBOOT USB mode.

Execute the above file by double clicking it in Windows Explorer.

If this doesn't work, there's an SD card / reboot version but I'd be very suspicious of your cable before we tried moving over anything else.

If the RUU succeeds, you'll be stock everything and unrooted - go ahead and reflash TWRP.

You'll have the fix if it corrupts again.

I thought I posted last night (before your last two posts), but now I can't find it.

Could an old hboot be the problem? Per:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3002901

I tried to reinstall TWRP 2.7.0.2 (like the person in that thread and the one I was on before) and it worked; my M8 just doesn't like the newer build.

Again, did all this BEFORE the last posts from you Early, then feel asleep... LOL

Well, I'm glad it's running again, that's for danged sure.

I think that the RUU would have everything, including the matching hboot - do you want me to check it for you?

And... I vaguely recall updating my hboot somewhere along the line. I mean, I know I did, I just don't remember where...

I'm going to check that as well.

What's your hboot version right now?

It sounds like your device didn't fully flash the firmware. Do that again, and confirm that the OS version in HBOOT says 4.20.651.10. Once that's working, the latest TWRP will boot properly.

P.S. EarlyMon - that Sprint recovery you linked earlier will actually work on all the variants ;).

I know yours will but the TWRP mhl version will as well?
