Because i'm dying to get ICS on my phone! From nothing to having laggy response , finally getting RIL, then seeing the main dev bricking his phone, and finally everyone chipping in to get him a new one. It has it all lol.

The hero wasn't the first android device, but it was the first one to be really popular internationally. When people started to learn what they could do with their device with a little hacking, they were intrigued, but scared. This thread was the one stop shop for everything you needed to know, and it was written in plain English for everyone to understand.

It was a shining beacon of light in a sea of Linux technical jargon, and held many peoples hand into their first android experience. Its the thread that got a lot of people interested in the inner workings of android and I believe deserves recognition.

My hero is looking a little old now (since my Inc s broke out of warranty :mad:

Why do I love this? It helped me become a "phone wizard" with my friends. A few of them had Evos and I always loved to root things and well once I did it based of this thread my friends come back to me with all their new phones. Personally I run a unrooted Htc G2 but it once wore the colors of a root! Thank you androidforums!

As an actual Android Hardcore user and developer, this thread was really helpful while the new android OS; ICS was introduced. It was so much easier for me to understand the OS as a whole. Really appreciated all the info given here.

My favourite thread simply because it reminds me of when I finally got back and android device after being loured to the dark side
